It appears Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh is still a “trigger” for elected Democrats.
Or at least that’s the case for far-left Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), who says she stormed out of Tuesday night’s State of the Union Address after President Donald Trump merely mentioned his name.
“I think, you know, even the mention of Brett Kavanaugh for me is a trigger,” Tlaib told MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, according to The Hill.
“Just as a woman in America, the fact that he, you know, rightfully was accused, and having an incredibly strong woman come before the public and the world and tell her story of sexual assault by this person that was appointed to the Supreme Court is just — I couldn’t stand still and not do anything about it, and I needed to walk away from that,” claimed the Democrat.
Kavanaugh, who was confirmed to the high court bench in October 2018, was accused of decades-old sexual misconduct by Dr. Christine Blasey Ford. In a letter addressed to Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), Blasey Ford claimed Kavanaugh attempted to rape her at a house party in the early 1980s, though the accuser was unable to specify exactly where or when the alleged incident took place.
The dubious claim was found to be uncorroborated, the alleged witnesses she named either denied any knowledge of the party or outright refuted the accusation, and the Senate Judiciary Committee ultimately found that there was “no evidence to substantiate any of the claims.”
“In neither the committee’s investigation nor in the supplemental background investigation conducted by the FBI was there ANY evidence to substantiate or corroborate any of the allegations,” the Committee found.
The far-left representative bashed the president online during the address, calling Trump “forever impeached.”
“I walked out of that speech. The lies, the bigotry, and the shameless bragging about taking away food stamps that people depend on to live — it was all beneath the dignity of the office he occupies,” said Tlaib. “Shame on this forever impeached president.”

In another Tweet, Tlaib wrote, “I would have shredded it. #justsaying.”
The post was a clear reference to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi ripping up her copy of Trump’s speech soon after the SOTU concluded.
As noted by The Daily Wire on Tuesday night, Tlaib, along with Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), seemingly neglected to stand when one of the last surviving Tuskegee Airmen was honored during the address.
“Sitting beside Iain tonight is his great hero. Charles McGee was born in Cleveland, Ohio, one century ago. Charles is one of the last surviving Tuskegee Airmen — the first black fighter pilots — and he also happens to be Iain’s great-grandfather,” Trump said.
“After more than 130 combat missions in World War II, he came back to a country still struggling for Civil Rights and went on to serve America in Korea and Vietnam,” the president continued. “On December 7th, Charles celebrated his 100th birthday. A few weeks ago, I signed a bill promoting Charles McGee to Brigadier General. And earlier today, I pinned the stars on his shoulders in the Oval Office. General McGee: Our Nation salutes you.”
“When everyone in the room rose to their feet to honor McGee, Omar and Tlaib appeared to sit,” noted The Daily Wire.
