Georgia's Republican Senator David Perdue deletes his Facebook ad that shows Democratic Jewish rival with a 'doctored' larger nose amid anti-Semitic claims

Georgia's Republican Senator David Perdue has removed a Facebook ad featuring his Democratic candidate Jon Ossoff after he was accused of being anti-Semitic for allegedly doctoring his rival's nose to make it appear bigger.
The now-deleted advertisement features a black and white photo of Ossoff, who is Jewish, that show him having an enlarged and distorted nose.
The ad show Ossoff next to Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer, who is also Jewish, with a banner that reads: 'Democrats are trying to buy Georgia! Help David Perdue fight back!'
While Perdue's campaign has deleted the ad, they deny accusations it played on an anti-Semitic trope.
The campaign, instead, says the distortion was an 'accident' and blamed it on an 'outside vendor'.

Ossoff has since blasted his incumbent Republican rival and President Trump ally, calling the ad a 'divisive' and 'disturbing' tactic.
'Sitting US Senator David Perdue's digital attack ad distorted my face to enlarge and extend my nose. I'm Jewish. This is the oldest, most obvious, least original anti-Semitic trope in history. Senator, literally no one believes your excuses,' Ossoff tweeted late Monday.
'Perdue should take personal responsibility for his campaign, and donate the money he raised using a doctored image of my face to a nonpartisan group that promotes tolerance, peace, and reconciliation.'
A spokesperson for Perdue's campaign distanced themselves from the ad, saying the size of the Democrat's nose was an 'unintentional error'.
'In the graphic design process handled by an outside vendor, the photo was resized and a filter was applied, which appears to have caused an unintentional error that distorted the image,' a spokesperson said.
'Obviously, this was accidental, but to ensure there is absolutely no confusion, we have immediately removed the image from Facebook.

'Anybody who implies that this was anything other than an inadvertent error is intentionally misrepresenting Senator Perdue's strong and consistent record of standing firmly against anti-Semitism and all forms of hate.'
The original photo of Ossoff that appeared in the ad was taken back in 2017.
The distorted photo was first brought to light by Jewish news organization Forward.
They reported the ad went live on Facebook on July and was displayed between 3,000 to 4,000 times before it was eventually deleted.

Ossoff, who works as a media executive and documentary filmmaker, will face Perdue in November for a US Senate seat representing the state.
He is known for breaking fundraising records during a 2017 special election loss for a US House seat.
Ossoff entered the race for the Senate last September with the endorsement of the late civil rights icon Rep. John Lewis.
He has made fighting inequality and corruption a core part of his message.
