Father, daughter kicked off flight after crew claims they overheard ‘threatening’ private conversation
A father and daughter flying out of Florida claim a flight attendant eavesdropping on their private conversation led to them being kicked off the plane.
Video footage captured by another passenger on the Frontier Airline flight out of Orlando on Wednesday showed the moment a crew member confronted Whitney Miller, 25, and her father Eric Miller, 70, and asked them to leave their seats.
Understandably irritated with an eight-hour flight delay, the Millers said they were privately discussing the matter and even noted how “miserable” the flight crew seemed, agreeing that they never wanted to travel Frontier again, according to News 6.
Apparently, one flight attendant who overheard the conversation between the father and daughter felt “threatened” and proceeded to have them removed from the flight that was reportedly taking them to St. Louis to visit a sick relative.
The Millers said they were repeatedly asked by flight crew members if there was a problem.
“They would lean over the back of the chair in front of us, get their face right up to here and they would simply ask, ‘Do we have a problem?'” Eric Miller told News 6.
“It was, ‘No, do you have a problem? Do you want to be removed from the aircraft?’ We responded, ‘No.’ We didn’t know what was going on, what’s happening. Please tell us what’s happening,” Whitney Miller said.
Frontier Airlines claimed the duo were shouting profanities at staff and posed a danger to the rest of the passengers.
“Our flight attendants are customer service and safety professionals who are trained to recognize situations that may impact comfort and safety of passengers and crew on board our aircraft. The behaviors and comments exhibited by these passengers prior to departure were inappropriate; and as a result they were asked to leave our aircraft. Safety and security of our passengers and crew is our number one priority,” the airline told News 6.
Miller could be heard on the video responding to a crew member’s threat to call the police.
“You are going to call the police?” he asked.
“This is the most loathsome experience I can actually say I’ve indulged in 70 years of flying on an airplane. This is absolutely incredible!” he shouted as he stood up to gather his belongings. “We have a conversation, you’re threatened and we are going to have to leave after spending 12 hours in this airport waiting for this plane to leave. Absolutely shameful!”
Other passengers on the plane applauded to show their support for the pair.
The passenger who filmed the exchange sided with the father and daughter, commenting on the video post on Facebook.
“Frontier is on my dislike list. These poor people did not deserve this at all! A stewardess felt threatened after ‘overhearing’ a conversation between this daughter and father just trying to get back after we all sat for a 9 hour delay! You hear his reaction? Still classy after all the attacks Frontier gave them both. Never again!” Jocelyn Praia Gonzalez wrote.
Whitney also took to Facebook, admitting how “humiliated” she felt for the way she and her father were removed from the flight.
“Well friends and family, my father and I were kicked off a plane today. There’s a first for everything! Look for us on YouTube being humiliated and walked off Frontier Airlines!! NEVER FLY WITH THIS COMPANY,” she wrote.
“Our flight to St. Louis was delayed 6 hours with no compensation. Once we boarded the flight we were removed within 15 minutes of sitting in our seats. I’m not posting this for pitty, I’m posting this to make people aware of how unjust this ‘system’ is. My father and I were having a private conversation regarding the awful travel experience and customer service we were experiencing and happen to be overheard by a flight attendant. This flight attendant reported us to her supervisor who then approached us stating they felt threatened by us, leading to our removal from the aircraft,” Miller continued.
“Please share. Please help make this company feel the humiliation my father and I felt today. Never, ever, fly Frontier Airlines,” she concluded.
The responses to her post on Facebook were overwhelmingly supportive and, though Frontier refunded their tickets, it looks like the airline will have to do a lot more to earn the forgiveness of its passengers. Guess they didn’t learn much from the public relations nightmares of their competitors.

I don't fly any longer. One reason being the overbearing and absolutely useless security. Another reason is the way passengers are treated, more like cattle being herded into a slaughterhouse. And the final reason is dealing with rude, asinine, arrogant passengers such as this old fart and his little princess who feel they are the only ones inconvenienced by delays.
ReplyDeletefuck off dickhead
DeleteAirlines have the upper hand with passengers. they know you have to fly in order to do your business. They will make life miserable for you. They do not care about how YOU feel, they are only interested in taking your money and laugh all the way to the bank. So they get a little bit of bad press, people have short memories. Two airlines are on my list, Frontier and United.
ReplyDeleteThe airlines have no idea how much money they are losing. So many people stopped flying or significantly reduced it due to the 911 incompetencies of the government and airlines being passed on to the passengers. Southwest at least seems to try while the rest are jokes.
