Patient DIED after neighbour posted that angry note on ambulance saying 'you may be saving lives, but don't block my drive' as paramedics were trying to save him (10 Pics)

AN ambulance patient whose neighbour left paramedics a despicable note as they fought to save him has died in hospital.

West Midlands Ambulance staff were left staggered by the slip of paper pushed under their windscreen wiper as they treated a patient suffering major internal bleeding.

One of the paramedics who tried to save his life was Tasha Starkey, who posted a picture of the note on Twitter

The note, written in capitals, reads: "You may be saving lives, but don't park your van in a stupid place and block my drive."

Medics were treating a man vomiting up blood in Small Heath, Birmingham, at around 4.30pm on Friday. Ambulance workers were at the scene for no more than 30 minutes.

It has now been confirmed the patient died in hospital, with his family since saying their loss had been made "50 times worse".

In a tweet, West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "Sometimes we just don't know what to say. This was the note left on an ambulance today.

"At the time, the crew were helping a man who was extremely unwell after vomiting blood.

"They took him on blue lights to hospital where he was in a critical condition. #patientscomefirst".

Meanwhile Sam Grimson, a paramedic clinical team mentor for the service, said: "One of our crews encountered this delightful note after assisting a patient suffering a major internal bleed!

"The crew were not on scene long due to how poorly the patient was. We always try to park appropriately but sometimes it it not possible."

Tasha Starkey, a WMAS paramedic, added: "Crew alerted an extremely poorly patient to hospital... minimal on scene time, arrived at hospital to find this note... this patient was TIME-CRITICAL".

Since the image was shared, a host of users have spoken out in support of the force on social media.

Gemma Downes said: "Unbelievable. The mentality of some people actually baffles me.

"Let's hope they need to call an ambulance for them or their family, they'll have to wait while you do a perfect parallel park."
