Shocking footage shows fast-food server spitting in customer's meal during late-night bust-up at restaurant

Shocking footage has emerged of a bust-up in a fast-food restaurant during which a server spits on an outraged customer's food.

The video shows a screaming row between the member of staff and a customer at Canadian food chain Pita Pit - which also has branches in Manchester.

A female voice can be heard saying "I ****** dare you" to the woman preparing her meal, who then spits into the the sandwhich.

The fuming customer then launches herself over the counter and throws food at the woman as they become involved in a screaming match.

"I f****** was nice to you", the customer shouts, "you were a f****** bitch".

"Yeah because it's three o' clock in the f****** morning and I want to go home", the infuriated member of staff responds.

The video went viral after it was shared thousands of times on Facebook, forcing the fast-food chain to publicly apologise.

ShaeLynn MadPlume, who shared the original video, said: "Just a few customers trying to give them business!!! PITA PIT (downtown Missoula doesn’t close until 3am)...we come in at approximately 2:00 am trying to order food and this racist woman spit in our food because apparently “she was having a bad day and didn’t wanna be at work!”.......mind you, she argues with us a few seconds before we were actually able to capture this on video!!".

Pita Pit posted a public apology on Facebook

The owner of Pita Pit said she is "mortified" following the altercation and said the employee is no longer working for the company.

A message posted on the social media site said: "My husband and I have owned Pita Pit Missoula for over 14 years.

"I have seen your Facebook post and I am mortified that this happened to you and your friends in our establishment."

"I don’t know what happened before or after this video was taken but please don’t listen to those who speculate.

"I can see what happened during the video and there is no excuse whatsoever for the type of behavior shown by an employee that I can assure you is no longer working for us.

"If my husband and I could take back what happened, we would. That is not possible. In this moment of shock and heaviness, we want to offer you, your friends, and the Missoula community our sincerest apology."
