Mother admits she doesn't like her two grown-up children because they live in 'bad areas' and have low-paid jobs after she put them through private school (10 Pics)

A SINGLE mum has been slammed for a "vile" post about how much she hates her adult daughters.

She was responding to a thread on Mumsnet "about not liking your child", which asked what happens "when you realise they just aren’t a pleasant person. Does the fact they are your child override everything else or not?"

Posting as MsReturntoLife, she immediately said: "OMG (oh my God) you could be me! I have 2 grown up children and feel very similar to you.

"My children were at private schools so that they would have a good education to stand them in good stead to get well paying jobs.

"They did not have education in mind, all they wanted to do was to take up with boyfriends with bad histories."

Among her pet peeves is that her kids work in "poorly paid, no particular qualification type of jobs", while their other halves are unemployed.

She added: " They both had children before they were 20.They... live in what are termed bad areas.

"I often ask myself why did I knock myself out trying to give them a decent start.

"I loved my children to the ends of the earth but they do not seem to care very much."

Her fellow parents were absolutely shocked, and have laid into the mum.

Among them was GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat, who said: "you sound awful".

While Valanice1989 wrote: "I can't believe anyone would consider their children's jobs and homes a factor in how much they like them! That's horrendous."

And mindboggled88 advised: "Try being less of a snob and you could have a family. Not that I'd want you if you were my mother with that attitude!"

Tigerrun, meanwhile, said: "What you said in your first post is vile.

"However if you really do care then the best advice I'd have would be to stop judging them and start showing them that you love them.

"We are all a product of our environment, if you have a child who you dislike it is probably time to take a long, hard look in the mirror IMO (in my opinion)."

But some of the mums were more sympathetic.

Abra1de commented: "I don’t think MrsReturn is being anything other than honest.

"I don’t think you’d find any parent spending tens of thousands of pounds on school fees who wouldn’t hope their children would have rewarding careers and a ‘nice’ life with supportive partners.

"That’s not snobbery."

And spacecadet48, who grew up from a "poor background" but has sent all four of her kids to private school, wrote: "I would be disappointed too if they threw away opportunities given to them.

"All I can ask is they do their best and are happy in their choices".
