Massive violent brawl breaks out in Portland between right-wing Patriot Prayer group and hard left Antifa, with both sides wielding bear spray, hard-knuckled gloves, guns, batons and knives

A violent brawl broke out in Oregon between right-wing protesters and counter-demonstrators Saturday night.

Shocking footage shows members of the right-wing group Patriot Prayer holding American flags as they came face-to-face with masked left-wing demonstrators in black, some of whom identified as Antifa, before a massive fight ensued.
The opposing group confronted Patriot Prayer, which was holding a Flash March for 'law and order' as a response to Portland Police's 'hands-off' approach to last week's left-wing demonstration over the police shooting of a 27-year-old black man.
Video shows the first punches being thrown which quickly escalated into chaos that spilled out into the streets. Police now confirm that the demonstrators used pepper spray and were armed with 'hard-knuckled gloves, firearms, batons and knives.'
In less than a minute, anti-riot police appeared on the scene using foam bullets to control the crowd.
Video shows a member of Patriot Prayer appear to throw the first punch before a masked protester in an army uniform begins to dispense what appears to be bear or pepper spray at the opposing group.
People are heard coughing and seen covering their faces as a result of the spray. Others attempt to record the chaos while remaining a safe distance away from the massive fight.
Patriot Prayer leader Joey Gibson is seen engaging in the brawl while wearing an orange shirt that reads: 'I hunt Antifa cowards.'
Gibson organized the three-hour demonstration to protest Mayor Ted Wheeler's handling of last week's left-wing demonstration.
The mayor came under fire over a viral video showing protesters blocking traffic and harassing drivers but said he supported the police's decision to not get involved.
The group expressed their anger after dozens of Antifa protesters got into ugly clashes with motorists and directed traffic during a march over the police shooting of Patrick Kimmons.
Kimmons, 27, was shot and killed by two Portland police officers on September 30 who responded to the sound of gunfire.
Kimmons' family say he was shot 10 to 15 times in the back and was unarmed, but police say both officers fired less than 10 times in total.
Gibson showed up Saturday with a large banner that read: 'Replace PDX Mayor'.
'Tell the cops to go in and do their job,' a Patriot Prayer demonstrator said through a megaphone ahead of the quarrel. 'What ever happened to protect and serve?'
Counter-protesters were heard chanting 'Black Lives Matter!'

Police said they had attempted to thwart the possibility of a clash Saturday by speaking with both groups ahead of time.
But amid growing tensions, Antifa members wearing all black confronted the Patriot Prayer group wearing MAGA hats and helmets.
The right-wing group reportedly chanted 'USA', while Antifa responded with 'go home Nazis'.
Portland police said officers used foam bullets to control the crowd.
'The Portland Police Bureau's objectives for today's events were to provide a safe environment for everyone, including participants, non-participants and bystanders,' Portland police chief Danielle Outlaw said in a statement.
'Officers responded to the scene and used less lethal munitions to break up the fight and prevent further violence,' she said.
Four people were treated for injuries but no one was taken to the hospital in an ambulance.
No arrests were made but police say they continue to investigate and urge any victim of the violence to come forward.
Saturday's incident in Portland mirrors a similar scene in New York City where several members of far right group Proud Boys kicked and pummeled a small group of antifascist protesters Friday night.
Proud Boys leader Gavin McInnes held a rally for around 50 people at the vandalized Manhattan GOP headquarters.
After the rally was over, a number of bare-knuckle fights broke out with the men wrestling one another on the sidewalk.
Three men were arrested.
