'I didn't punch anyone': Alec 'Brawlin' Baldwin, 60, denies attacking driver, 49, after he's arrested outside his NYC home in curse-filled row over a parking spot as nemesis Trump jokes at his expense (4 Pics)
Actor and President Trump impersonator Alec Baldwin was arrested Friday for sucker-punching another man in a fight over a Greenwich Village parking spot, police said.
The “Hunt for Red October” star was trying to park a black Cadillac Escalade in a spot on E. 10th St. near Fifth Ave. when Wojciech Cieszkowski, 49, pulled into the space at about 1:30 p.m., sources with knowledge of the case said.
One of Baldwin’s family members was trying to hold the spot for the thespian when Cieszkowski, slipped his black Saab station wagon into the space, said sources.
The two men argued and when the victim went to a pay the parking meter, Baldwin ran up and struck him, authorities said.
Baldwin was charged with assault, harassment and physical contact, cops said.
He left the 6th Precinct station house several hours later, brushing by reporters, and said nothing as he arrived home.
Baldwin later tweeted a denial.
“Normally, I would not comment on something as egregiously misstated as today’s story,” Baldwin wrote. “However, the assertion that I punched anyone over a parking spot is false. I wanted to go on the record stating as much. I realize that it has become a sport to tag people w as many negative charges and defaming allegations as possible for the purposes of click bait entertainment. Fortunately, no matter how reverberating the echos, it doesn’t make the statements true.”
Baldwin’s presidential doppelganger even weighed in on the arrest.
“I wish him luck,” Trump said at campaign rally in Huntington, W.Va.
The President’s son, Donald Trump Jr., was a little less reserved.
“Is anyone shocked at this piece of garbage anymore?,” Trump Jr. tweeted. “As if the phone calls to his daughter weren’t bad enough. He’s a lib so he gets chance after chance to be decent but always fails!”
To top it off, Baldwin and Cieszkowski received parking summonses for not paying the meter, according to sources.
Police have surveillance video of the incident from a nearby building, authorities said.
“They’re out there saying he punched him in the face — I don’t know if that’s necessarily the case,” said a police spokesman. “The victim is just saying ‘he hit me, he hit me.’”
Cieszkowski went to a hospital complaining of physical pain. He had redness on his neck, the spokesman said.
The actor is known for his temper, but has mellowed over the last few years as he assumed the role of President Trump on “Saturday Night Live.” He is also the host of his own ABC talk series “The Alec Baldwin Show.”
An ABC spokeswoman said the show will air Sunday as scheduled.
Baldwin’s rep declined to comment.
In 2012, Baldwin was accused of assaulting a Daily News photographer Marcus Santos, who said the hot-headed "30 Rock" star punched him in the face outside the city Marriage License Bureau.
Baldwin went ballistic when Santos snapped him outside the Worth St. office after Baldwin and then-fiancee Hilaria Thomas picked up their license in lower Manhattan.
A year later, Baldwin got into a street scuffle with another photographer, pinning him to the hood of a parked car, just days after the actor’s daughter was born
In 2014, Baldwin was charged with disorderly conduct after jawing at cops who stopped him for riding his bike the wrong way down a one-way street. The case was later dismissed.
After his release, Baldwin took to Twitter, and posted the badge number of the officer he said arrested him
Despite his antics, Baldwin still had some fans.
“It’s the New York thing to do,” an unnamed resident of Alec Baldwin’s building said. “I’ve punched someone for getting into a taxi.”
