After a big weekend of media gaffes, Fox News may have made the biggest gaffe of them all.

They announced that Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is dead, even though that is not accurate or true, as Mediaite reports:

Fox & Friends apologized on Monday after briefly airing a graphic suggesting that Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is dead.

As the show came back from commercials, they briefly showed a graphic of Ginsburg with the caption 1933-2019. The image was on screen for only a brief period of time before it was dismissed for Ainsley Earhardt‘s upcoming interview on campus culture. …

Later in the show, the hosts acknowledged the graphic by saying it was a control room error, and that their understanding is Ginsburg is still recovering from lung surgery, but alive nonetheless.

“We don’t want to make it seem anything other than that was a mistake. It was an accident,” Steve Doocy said.

“We apologize, big mistake,” Earhardt followed.
