Supporters of the bill have argued that some mass killers, such as Nikolas Cruz, who

"A lot of people who are having mental health issues will often post on their social
media pages that they're about to hurt themselves or others," he added. "We need to
give those people the help they need."

Didech has defended the legislation claiming it's less intrusive than a bill proposed in
New York state. The New York measure, if approved, would reportedly allow law
enforcement officials to review the entire browsing history of those who apply for a
gun license.
