President Trump bashes 'fake news' at Fox News after poll shows low support

President Donald Trump fired off a critical tweet after what he saw as "fake news"

from cable news channel Fox News on Monday.

The president appeared to be displeased at the recent Fox News poll that showed the

top Democratic presidential contenders beating him in a hypothetical head-to-head

competition.
"@FoxNews Polls are always bad for me. They were against Crooked Hillary also.

Something weird going on at Fox," he tweeted.

"For the record, I didn't spend 30 hours with @abcnews, but rather a tiny fraction of

that. More Fake News @BretBaier," he added.

The poll had the president losing to former Vice President Joe Biden by a ten point

differential. Biden is currently the frontrunner in the campaign to obtain the 2020

Democratic presidential nomination.

50 percent of respondents in the same poll said they would be "displeased" or

"scared" if the president won re-election in 2020.

Earlier on Monday the president decried polling in general.

"Only Fake Polls show us behind the Motley Crew," he tweeted, referring to the

large cohort of Democratic presidential candidates.

"We are looking really good, but it is far too early to be focused on that," he added.

Trump also criticized Fox News in April when they aired a town hall event with

socialist presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.). The president

complained that his supporters were kept out of the event.

"What's with Fox News?" he tweeted.
