Ex-Google CEO Eric Schmidt, 64, sparks engagement rumors by gifting huge ring to a 32-year-old woman he has been 'spending time with' despite still being married to his wife of 39 years
Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt has reportedly given a 10-carat ring to a young woman he has been 'spending time with' despite still being married to his wife.
Schmidt, 64, who is worth an estimated $13.2billion, gave the huge sapphire ring to 32-year-old Alexandra Duisberg.
The billionaire is said to have given her the ring a few weeks ago in Greenland as a 'friendship ring', sources told PageSix.
Schmidt, who is still married to his wife, Wendy, of 39 years, has reportedly been spending time with Duisberg, who is the same age as his daughter, Sophie.

'Eric has been spending time with Alexandra, and he gave her a friendship ring. While this may have sparked some excitement and rumors, it is not an engagement ring,' a source told PageSix.
The source added that Schmidt 'did not propose, and they are not engaged'.
However, another source claimed that the Duisberg, a former medical student, has being going around telling her friends: 'We want to have kids as soon as possible, but his wife is making things complicated.'
The pink sapphire ring is estimated to be worth millions.
Though the ring may have sparked engagement rumors, which were quickly shut down, Schmidt reportedly has no interest in divorcing his wife.
In recent years, there have been numerous reports about Schmidt's extra-marital affairs.
Despite being married to Wendy, Schmidt has had relationships with a series of younger women, including a vivacious television host who dubbed him 'Dr Strangelove,' a public relations executive and a Vietnamese concert pianist.
In the past, Schmidt had been linked to Lisa Shields, a foreign relations executive and Vietnamese pianist Chau-Giang Thi Nguyen.
Meanwhile, Wendy reportedly resides at one of their homes, a $23million waterfront mansion on Nantucket Island, Massachusetts, where she focuses on her philanthropic work.
TV personality Kate Bohner, aged 52, had a three-year affair with the married mogul from 2007 to 2010.
At the time of that particular affair, Schmidt was at the height of his power. He was brought in as Google’s CEO in 2001 by creators Sergey Brin and Larry Page, who relied on his expertise to turn their modest internet search engine into a global media powerhouse.
There was also Marcy Simon, a PR executive who was spotted with him on holiday on the French Riviera in 2006. At the time, he gave her a large, canary-yellow diamond ring.
Wendy met her husband at Berkeley University in the late 1970s and they married in 1980. They have two adult daughters, Sophie and Alison.
