WATCH: ‘The Simpsons’ Feature ‘The Squad’ Mocking Trump In ‘West Side Story’ Parody

"The Simpsons" went full SJW this week by releasing a teaser video in which "The Squad" mocks President Trump with a parody song of "America" from the hit musical "West Side Story." 

"In the video, a disgruntled-looking Trump sits in the Oval Office and laments that he needs to distract the American people from things that are going wrong," reports Fox News. "He picks up a picture of Democratic congresswomen Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ayanna Pressley, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib."

The video then segues into Trump singing about how "The Squad" should not be in America and that America centers around him.

"They shouldn't be in America / No one but me in America / No taxes for me in America / This is my natural hair-ica," he sings.

Eventually, the picture comes to life and the four women leap out to condemn Trump with some singing of their own.

"You're Boris Johnson without the class / Can't wait to see you behind prison glass / Your nose is right up Putin's a-- / We say it's time to impeach you fast," the women sing.

Later, the 2020 Democratic candidates stroll up to the White House with their arms locked while dancing the can-can. Fearing he's outmatched, President Trump joins in the dance with his fellow opponents but eventually passes out from fatigue.

"Who's an old man now?" Joe Biden asks to the unconscious Trump.

 

 

"The Simpsons" has waded into the anti-Trump political waters before. In 2017, the show even compared Kellyanne Conway to Hitler propaganda chief Joseph Goebbels. The episode centered on Marge Simpson becoming the first female mayor of Springfield and her cabinet's quest to boost her approval ratings.

"I'll be the Kellyanne Conway of this thing!" a political advisor says to Marge.

"Kellyanne Conway!" a woman in a focus group says. "I like how she always looks like she just woke up."

"I think it's inspiring how now a woman can be Joseph Goebbels," another woman replies.

For a brief period of time in 2018, however, "The Simpsons" appeared to be taking a stance against political correctness when creator Matt Groening refused to shelve the character Apu despite the cancel campaign led by social justice warriors.

"I'm proud of what we do on the show," said Groening at the time. "And I think it’s a time in our culture where people love to pretend they're offended." 

 

However, actor Hank Azaria, who voices the character Apu, said at the time that he would be willing to shelve the character if it meant reconciling with people who were offended.

"You know, the idea that anybody was — young or old, past or present — was bullied or teased based on the character of Apu, it just really makes me sad. It was certainly not my intention," Azaria told Stephen Colbert. "I wanted to spread laughter and joy with this character. And the idea that it's, you know, brought pain and suffering in any way, that it was used to marginalize people, it's upsetting, genuinely."

"I'm perfectly willing and happy to step aside or help transition it into something new," added Azaria. "I really hope that's what 'The Simpsons' does. And it not only makes sense, but it just feels like the right thing to do to me."

Though rumors mounted that Apu would be leaving the show, producer Al Jean immediately laid those to rest.
