'You know, during World War II, you know, Roosevelt came up with a thing:' Joe Biden rambles and struggles for words during interview on coronavirus response
Joe Biden rambled and struggled for words during a CNN interview on Thursday about the coronavirus response, seemingly suggesting the White House should use WWII policies to deal with the pandemic.
Speaking to Anderson Cooper and Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Biden stumbled his way through the evening interview, after being asked his thoughts about President Trump's three-phase plan to reopen the country.
After a long-winded reply about a lack of testing, Biden said: 'You know, there's a uh, during World War II, uh, you know, where Roosevelt came up with a thing uh, that uh, you know, was totally different than a, than the, the, it's called, he called it the, you know, the World War II, he had the war the War Production Board.
'I don't know why we don't set up something like a pandemic production board.'

Biden has repeatedly blasted Trump for his slow response to the coronavirus pandemic, seizing the crisis as a political foothold in the 2020 presidential election.
He unveiled a new ad last week that highlighted Trump's shortcomings and clips of Trump praising China for 'good job' in containing the deadly virus.
Meanwhile, Trump has tried to present Biden, who at 77 is four years older than him, as addled and out of it, suggesting often that his staff does the work for him.
Biden has had a series of gaffes on his path to the White House, but he recently scooped up the endorsements of former president Barack Obama, as well as former candidates Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren.

Former first lady Michelle Obama is said to be next to give her endorsement to the former VP.
Plans are still in the works for the rollout but Michelle Obama could appear in an online video and send out an email fundraising plea for the former vice president, The Hill reported.
She also is expected to work the phones to get her celebrity friends and high-dollar donors in Biden's corner.
Any effort on her part will likely be a boost to the former vice president. But Michelle Obama is notorious for hating campaigning and would rarely make appearances on the trail for her husband let alone other Democratic candidates.
The timing of her Biden endorsement is yet to be determined.
She was close to both Joe and Jill Biden when President Barack Obama was in office.
Michelle Obama and Jill Biden worked together to support military spouses and families as part of their Joining Forces campaign.
