Today, at his coronavirus briefing, President Trump talked about his efforts to speed up a vaccine for COVID-19. He told the media, “Another essential pillar of our strategy to keep America open is the development of effective treatments and vaccines as quickly as possible. I want to see if we can do that very quickly.” Trump dubbed the vaccine effort, “Operation Warp Speed,” adding, “When I say ‘quickly,’ we’re looking to get it by the end of the year if we can. Maybe before.”

“I just want to make one thing clear—it’s very important—vaccine or no vaccine, we’re back. And we’re starting the process. And in many cases, they don’t have vaccines and a virus or a flu comes, and you fight through it.  We haven’t seen anything like this in a hundred and some odd years—1917,” adding, “But you fight through it.”

ABC News wrote about Dr. Fauci’s Senate testimony earlier this week, where he predicted a 12-18 month time frame for a COVID-19 vaccination.

Since the beginning of the coronavirus crisis, Fauci has frequently cited the 12- to 18-month timeline. He delivered a reality check at a Senate hearing Tuesday when he said having a vaccine for the start of the next school year is not possible.

“Even at the top speed we’re going, we don’t see a vaccine playing in the ability of individuals to get back to school this term,” Fauci said.

But when Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, pressed Fauci on the likelihood of developing a vaccine within in a year or two, Fauci was said it’s “not a long shot.”

“I think it’s clearly much more likely than not that somewhere within that time frame we will get a vaccine for this virus,” he said.

Perhaps the world won’t have to wait for a vaccine to deal with the deadly virus. If their claim is accurate, Sorrento Therapeutics has a 100% cure for COVID-19 that could be available months before a vaccine is available to the public.

Fox News is now reporting that a California-based biopharmaceutical company claims to have discovered an antibody that could shield the human body from the coronavirus and flush it out of a person’s system within four days, Fox News has exclusively learned.

Later Friday, Sorrento Therapeutics will announce their discovery of the STI-1499 antibody, which the San Diego company said can provide “100% inhibition” of COVID-19, adding that a treatment could be available months before a vaccine hits the market.

“We want to emphasize there is a cure. There is a solution that works 100 percent,” Dr. Henry Ji, founder, and CEO of Sorrento Therapeutics told Fox News. “If we have the neutralizing antibody in your body, you don’t need the social distancing. You can open up a society without fear.”
