Chick-Fil-A will start selling $14.99 meal-for-two kits so customers can make dinner using their chicken at home from next week

Chick-Fil-A has announced it will start selling kits for customers to make meals at home during the coronavirus shutdown.
From Monday, restaurants will start selling the $14.99 chicken Parmesan pasta kits via their drive-in windows and through delivery services and apps.
The company says it expects around half of its locations to sell the kits, but because restaurants will have to volunteer to receive them it is not clear where exactly will be selling them or when they will start.

Each kit makes a meal for two people, and includes two cooked chicken breasts as the main ingredient.

Customers will be able to choose from traditional breaded fillets or substitute them for grilled and spicy fillets that come without the coating.
The kit will also include marinara sauce, Italian-style cheeses, pasta and a garlic and lemon cream sauce.
Chick-Fil-A first trialed the make-at-home meal kits in Atlanta in 2018, but did not roll them out nationwide due to demand being low.
But since coronavirus shutdowns have meant more people eating at home, the food chain revived the idea.
The kits will also help people avoid supermarkets, which have suffered from panic buying and carry a greater risk of picking up a coronavirus infection than going to a drive-in window or getting a home delivery.

However, Chick-Fil-A have not followed the lead of other companies which have been giving out recipes to some of their best-selling meals.
The recipes allow customers to recreate their favorite fast food at home - provided they can source the ingredients.
For example, Subway gave away three recipes for teriyaki chicken, its Italian herbs and cheese bread, and its double chocolate cookies for people to make.
Ikea has also given away the recipe to its famed Swedish meatballs after its stores were forced to close during the pandemic.
Chick-Fil-A's method means there is no need to go grocery shopping, but does not let customers in on the secret of how to make the meal from scratch.
It comes after the chain started posting recipes using its chicken to its Facebook page and selling 'family meal' bundles.
Chick-Fil-A has also started selling 16-ounce bottles of polynesian sauce at Publix, Target, Walmart and Winn-Dixie stores in Florida.
