'If God is for us, who can be against us?' Marla Maples breaks quarantine and flies out of New York City to see her daughter Tiffany Trump, saying she does not 'choose fear'
Marla Maples has broken quarantine and taken a flight out of New York City to visit her daughter Tiffany Trump following her graduation from Georgetown Law School.
The 56-year-old actress took to Instagram on Sunday to share a photo of herself wearing a protective face mask on her flight. The airline appeared to be practicing social distancing measures, with other flyers sitting behind Marla but not next to her.
In her caption, Marla revealed that she is putting her faith in God and is back to flying again because she is choosing not to live in fear amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Back to traveling: Marla Maples broke quarantine and flew from New York City to visit her daughter Tiffany Trump, presumably in Washington, D.C.
Faith: In her caption, she wrote that chooses 'love' not 'fear' and quoted the Bible verse Romans 8:31: 'If God is for us, who can be against us?'
'I choose love... I do not choose fear... I will walk (and fly) in trust, faith, peace and knowing. If God is for us who can be against us... no one,' she wrote. 'Grateful to be joining family on this beautiful day.'
She ended her post with the hashtags #InLoveWeTrust and #flyingagain.
Marla is is uniquely spiritual and practices a variety of religions. She goes to church on Sundays but still keeps Shabbat, studies Kabbalah, and eats a kosher diet.
She was quoting the Bible verse Romans 8:31 when she wrote, 'If God is for us, who can be against us?'
Separated: Marla was quarantined in New York City amid the pandemic while Tiffany was finishing her final semester of law school at Georgetown University online
Support: Socialite Kathy Hilton, soap star Tracey Bregman, and James Van Der Beek's wife, Kimberly, were among those who left positive comments on Marla's post
Her post received positive comments from the likes of socialite Kathy Hilton, soap star Tracey Bregman, and James Van Der Beek's wife, Kimberly, but others found her decision to travel unnecessary and irresponsible during the global crisis.
Nearly 100,000 Americans have died from the novel illness, and there have been more than 1.6 million confirmed cases around the country.
'No one should be traveling unless it is absolutely necessary, and you this,' one person wrote. 'You have been in NYC throughout this pandemic. Everyone wants to travel, that can, but we are not because it is still not really safe. I believe in God, as well. Explain 100,000 deaths.'
'God has nothing to do with science,' someone else commented, while another added: 'No God is going to protect you or anyone on a flight. You had a choice to refuse flying during a pandemic... you chose to fly.'
'It's NOT SAFE': Critics who found her decision to travel unnecessary slammed her for being irresponsible
Marla was also flying from New York City, which has become the epicenter of the pandemic. The state has had more than 362,000 confirmed cases and over 23,490 deaths as of Monday.
Landed: Marla later shared a photo of herself in a car with Tiffany's rescue cat Petals
Donald Trump's second ex-wife never specified whom she was visiting or where she was going, but she later shared an Instagram Stories snapshot of herself in a car with her daughter's rescue cat Petals.
'One of my fav traveling partners,' she captioned the image, tagging both Tiffany and her daughter's boyfriend, Michael Boulos.
Marla is presumably with her only child in Washington, D.C., but it's possible that they met somewhere else for the holiday weekend.
Tiffany, 26, celebrated her graduation from Georgetown Law School with a virtual commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 16.
Her mother shared an emotional video of herself congratulating her while opening up about how difficult it is to not be able to celebrate her accomplishments in the way that she deserves.
Proud mom: When Tiffany graduated law school earlier this month with a virtual commencement ceremony, Marla congratulated her in an emotional video
'With all of my heart, I am so proud of my daughter. She graduated from Georgetown Law School last weekend, and she is a lawyer,' she said in the clip. 'But like so many of you parents and kids, we weren't able to celebrate together, and you weren't able to put on the cap and gown. We weren't able to watch you receive that diploma. We've not yet been able to celebrate you in the way that you so deserve.'
Marla went on to share a special message for Tiffany, saying: 'Your commitment to learning, your commitment to growth, your commitment to being the smartest person you can be, your commitment to doing this because you really want to have an impact on humanity means so, so much, and I'm so grateful.'
The mom admitted to being concerned about her daughter's study habits, recalling how Tiffany once told her she had been hitting the books for three days straight.
'I'm so happy you came out of this because there were times I was so worried about you,' Marla said. 'But I understand. This was so important to you, and God bless you. You've done it, sweetheart.'
Looking back: Marla also shared a throwback picture of a nearly three-year-old Tiffany on her first day of school in West Palm Beach to commemorate her last
Next steps: Tiffany, pictured earlier this year, has given little insight into her plans after law school — however, she needs to pass the bar exam before she officially becomes a lawyer

Tiffany's father, President Trump, and boyfriend, Michael, also congratulated her on social media.
'Congratulations to my daughter, Tiffany, on graduating from Georgetown Law,' Trump, 73, wrote, adding: 'Great student, great school. Just what I need is a lawyer in the family. Proud of you Tiff!'
Meanwhile, Michael, 22, gushed about all of Tiffany's hard work to get to this point.
'Congratulates Tiffy!' he wrote. 'You've come a long way to get to this point and after all the hard work and sleepless nights, you more than deserve it, it's only the beginning now, love you honey and congrats again!'

Tribute: The 73-year-old called Tiffany a 'great student' in his tweet, and he joked that having a lawyer in the family is 'just what he needs'
With her degree taken care of, Tiffany still has one important step left before actually becoming a lawyer: She'll have to sit for the bar exam.
Typically, this would next be held in July, but many states are delaying the exam until the fall due to the pandemic.
After Tiffany passes the test, it's anyone's guess as to her future plans, as she certainly has numerous options available to her — and is known for being tight-lipped about her life.
It's not even known where the first daughter will choose to settle down. While she could stay in the D.C. area near her father and older sister Ivanka, she may also move to New York to be near her mother.
Or she may not live near family at all. Her boyfriend is based in London, and Tiffany could decide to move across the pond to live with him, or at least nearby.
