University of Queensland student facing expulsion for ‘criticising’ China’s regime
Sky News host Peter Gleeson says University of Queensland student Drew Pavlou faces expulsion from the institution for essentially speaking up and being “critical of China’s human rights record”.
The philosophy student is facing 11 allegations of misconduct levelled at him by the university and faces a hearing into his actions on May 20.
A circulated petition has so far gathered 25,000 signatures protesting his potential expulsion.
Mr Gleeson said Drew Pavlou, “like so many of us, sees the repressive Chinese style of government as something to expose”.
“This is the same government that accuses Australia of being part of an international conspiracy to shame China, all because we want an independent inquiry into the origin of the coronavirus”.
“We’ve always known universities are hotbeds for Marxists. That is very clear in the way kids are brainwashed while doing their tertiary education”.
“But UQ clearly can’t brainwash Mr Pavlou”.
“He must not be disciplined for highlighting what most Aussies agree on, that China’s totalitarian regime is hiding something when it comes to their handling of this pandemic”.
