Cooper-Jones appeared briefly on Fox's Special Report where she shared the quick bit about her meeting with Trump.
'I was very, very emotional throughout the whole conference,' she said. '[Trump] was very compassionate. He showed major concern for all families. Not just one family, but for all families.'
Cooper-Jones added: 'I can say that President Trump was very receiving. He listened and he addressed each and every family accordingly.'
After the meeting, Trump announced his police reform executive order during a press conference in the Rose Garden.
The president's plan will ban police from using chokeholds except for in instances when their lives are at risk and will set up a database where police departments track officers who have been accused of using excessive force.
President Trump said during his remarks – where he did not once mention George Floyd or relations between black people and police despite weeks of protests over multiple cop shootings of African Americans – that the plan will increase 'accountability' and 'transparency' while still allowing police officers to do their jobs and protect their communities.
He also claimed the measures are aimed at weeding out the 'tiny' amount of bad cops, claiming there is a very small percentage of bad apple offices.
CBS reports that Cooper-Jones felt that the executive order signed by Trump wasn't enough when addressing the long documented history of police brutality and racism in the country.
'But I do think that's it's a start,' she added.
