Seven bodies have been found in a burning Alabama home after sheriff's deputies responded to a call about a shooting.
The grisly discovery was made in Valhermoso Springs near Huntsville late on Thursday.
Authorities say they received a 911 call at 11.30pm about gunshots and discovered a fire inside the home when they arrived.
Morgan County Sheriff's deputies were able to put the fire out before firefighters arrived.
The bodies were discovered after the blaze was distinguished. It is not yet clear how big the fire was.

The sheriff's office said the victims included males and females but not disclosed their identities or ages.
All seven victims were adults.
Authorities say there were no survivors inside the home.
In a message on Twitter, the sheriff's office said the scene was secure and there was no immediate threat to the public.
Police have not released any information about the suspect.
Sheriff's office spokesman Mike Swafford told WAFF that neighbor had provided leads they were currently chasing down.
'We have called in assistance from the Madison County Sheriff's Crime Scene Unit, they'll partner with ours to process the scene,' Swafford said.
'Our agencies are very capable but any time there are multiple bodies, it is a substantial task, so we'll be out here for the rest of the night and most of tomorrow.'
