DACA - Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals.
Allows for children who entered the country before their 16th birthday and before 2010 to be exempted from deportation and to obtain renewable 2-year work permits.
To be eligible you must have not only have resided in the U.S. continuously since 2010, but either be enrolled in high school, completed high school, earned a G.E.D., or have been honorably discharged from the military. Additionally you can not have been convicted of a felony or serious misdemeanor, or pose a threat to national security.
The Trump Administration rescinded the DACA program in September 2017.
In a ruling on June 18th, the U.S Supreme Court ruled the Trump Administration cannot rescind DACA.
