Chris Cuomo goes on unhinged rant at 'crazy' Trump for 'selling magic beans in the middle of a pandemic' while 'messing with Dr. Fauci' after his Oval Office photo op with Goya products
CNN's Chris Cuomo slammed Donald Trump Wednesday, accusing the US president of using a photo op of himself posing with Goya food products to divert attention away from an op-ed criticizing Dr. Anthony Fauci.
Trump rebuked trade advisor Peter Navarro for his comments in the scathing piece that ran in USA Today trashing the nation's leading infectious disease expert over his work on the president's coronavirus task force.
Navarro accuses Fauci of being 'wrong about everything I have interacted with him on', among other comments that critics saw as an attempt to discredit the epidemiologist's warnings about new surges in COVID-19 infection rates across the nation.
The president responded to what in the administration considered a rogue move by saying Navarro had made a 'statement representing himself,' and that he shouldn't be doing that.
Fauci hit back in an interview Wednesday, calling attacks the against him 'bizarre.'
'Ultimately, it hurts the president to do that,' Fauci told the Atlantic. Cuomo went a step further to suggest Trump's rebuke of Navarro was disingenuous after the Goya food image appeared on Instagram.

'You tell me how a president in the middle of a pandemic has got time for this bull s**t. Are you kidding me?' an outraged Cuomo said on his Wednesday night broadcast, showing a picture of Trump giving two thumbs up as he posed with a bag of Goya beans and other products from the Spanish food label.
'On your dime, in the middle of a pandemic, they're selling beans!' Cuomo had also said.
The products were displayed on the Resolute Desk in the Oval office, a detail that seemed to set off Cuomo even more.
'This is what he's resolute about?' Cuomo quipped, also noting that the president's daughter Ivanka drew fire for posing with a can of Goya black beans in a similar photo posted on social media Tuesday.
The tweet that night, written in both English and Spanish, read 'If it's Goya, it's got to be good', which is the brand's familiar slogan.
The president's daughter made the post after Goya CEO Robert Unanue appeared at a Hispanic leaders event last week at the White House with Trump, whom he praised repeatedly, saying 'we're all truly blessed' to have him as president.
Almost immediately afterward, #BoycottGoya, #GoyaFoods and #Goyaway began trending on social media platforms.

Several big names weighed in on the debate, citing Trump's history of derogatory comments and harsh policies toward Hispanics, most notably, the administration's policy of separating immigrant families at the US-Mexico border.
Critics also pounced on Ivanka's posting and questions were raised as to whether there should be an ethics probe into the first daughter's actions, because she officially serves as an advisor to the president.
Ethics laws prohibits government employees from promoting private companies and their products.

'An employee shall not use or permit the use of his Government position or title or any authority associated with his public office to endorse any product, service or enterprise,' the law reads.
The White House argued Ivanka Trump 'has every right to express her personal support' for the company.
'Only the media and the cancel culture movement would criticize Ivanka for showing her personal support for a company that has been unfairly mocked, boycotted and ridiculed for supporting this administration - one that has consistently fought for and delivered for the Hispanic community. Ivanka is proud of this strong, Hispanic-owned business with deep roots in the U.S. and has every right to express her personal support,' said spokesperson Carolina Hurley.
