People reveal the strangest compliments they've ever received - including smelling like music and having 'beautiful fallopian tubes'

 Compliments are one of life's little joys which generally leave you feeling better about yourself.

However some awkward admirations can leave you questioning whether they were even compliments in the first place.

Earlier this week, a European Reddit user began a thread by asking other people: 'What's the weirdest compliment you've ever been given?' 

Since the question was originally posted more than 67,000 people responded, with one person admitting they had been told they smell like music by their four-year-old son.

One user on Reddit asked people to share their own examples of strange and unusual compliments they have been given

u/sdurb said: 'When I asked what kind of music he said "music you dance to". Still the best compliment I have received to date!' 

Another person revealed that they had received a strange compliment from the person who was piercing their ears.

u/hollowdahlia said: 'The piercer who pierced my ears back in August told me my ears were perfect and to call her if anyone said otherwise and she would fight them for me.' 

People have been sharing examples of the weirdest compliments they have ever received 

Meanwhile, u/irishamerican received a backhanded compliment while attending their high school reunion.

They said: 'I went to my 25th high school reunion and a woman I knew then didn't recognise me. When I told her my name she said: "Oh my gosh! You're so handsome now!"'

Another person revealed that they were told they would suit off shoulder dresses, a perfectly normal compliment, except for the fact they were a man who didn't fancy wearing frocks just yet.

However, u/whattheduck9 said: 'If I ever want to start wearing dresses, I know I'll choose off shoulder ones.
