QAnon supporter Marjorie Taylor Greene is elected to Congress for the first time after her Democratic opponent dropped out of the race in Georgia

QAnon conspiracy supporter Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene was elected to Congress as a Representative for Georgia's 14th District Tuesday night.

Greene, 46, ran uncontested after her Democratic opponent Kevin Van Ausdal withdrew from the race in September for family and personal reasons.

She celebrated her win on Tuesday night saying: 'BIG WIN TONIGHT! THANK YOU to the people of NW Georgia for choosing me to fight for them in Washington, DC!'

The businesswoman is known for supporting discredited QAnon conspiracy theories that paint President Donald Trump as a secret warrior against a supposed child-trafficking ring run by celebrities and 'deep state' government officials.

Greene has also made racist, xenophobic and contoversial statements in videos shared on social media. She called elections of Democratic Reps. Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar the 'Islamic invasion of our government', suggesed Hillary Clinton is a serial killer and touted theories about 9/11.

Despite her views, Greene won the nomination in August and the GOP supported her despite initial hesitance, with Trump calling her a 'future Republican star'.

She once called 'Q', the so-called leader of the QAnon movement a 'patriot' even though members of the conspiracy have sent death threats to Democratic members of Congress and have tried to hijack the #SaveTheChildren Movement meant to fight child sex trafficking.

The FBI has further warned that such views result in a domestic terror threat.

There are fears that her election could legitimzie the QAnon conspiracy - which has been repeatedly debunked.

It has also been banned on YouTube and Facebook and thousands of accounts linked to the conspiracy have been purged on Twitter.

Many of her public comments and social media posts have sparked backlash.

She said the deadly White Supremacist rally in Charlottesville in 2017 was an 'inside job' to 'further the agenda of the elites'.

She claimed that black people 'are held slaves to the Democratic Party' and claimed that white males are 'the most mistreated group of people in the United States today.'

On Facebook she followers of Islam and Sharia law to 'stay over there in the Middle East', as per Politico.

She also called Jewish philanthropist George Soros a 'Nazi'.

In August she tried to distance herself from QAnon telling Fox News that the conspiracy 'wasn't part of my campaign' noting that once she 'started finding misinformation' she 'chose another path.'

However, she continued to share her controversial views.
