Woman holding a poodle and a TASER tells neighbors to 'stop acting like black people' in her 'white neighborhood' after falsely accusing their dog of attacking hers
A California woman was captured on video approaching her neighbor’s home holding what appeared to be a TASER, telling them to ‘stop acting black’ in her ‘white neighborhood’ after falsely accusing their dog of attacking hers.
Gerritt Jones and his family have lived the neighborhood of Discovery Bay for 12 years and say they’ve never previously had any issues with the woman, identified as Adana Dean, who lives across the street.
However, that changed on Monday afternoon when Dean, whose in her late 70s, approached Gerritt’s 13-year-old son and the family’s two-year-old pit bull, asking if she could pet the dog.
Dean then allegedly interacted with the dog, calling him a 'good boy' before leaving. However, she returned to the doorstep five minutes later, holding a Taser and complaining to Gerritt that his dog had just attacked her poodle.

In cell phone footage and security video captured by the Jones family, Dean is seen holding her poodle in one hand and waving around what appears to be a Taser in the other while confronting Gerritt.
‘I don’t want to see that dog outside,’ Dean could be heard warning Gerritt.
Gerritt responds by telling her, ‘Well, he’s going to be outside, I have a right to have him outside like every other person.’
As the argument escalates, Gerritt can be heard asking Dean to leave his property.
Dean responds by telling Gerritt: ‘You’re a black person in a white neighborhood and you are acting like one.’
She goes on to suggest they should instead ‘act like a white person in a white neighborhood.’
Gerritt then informs Dean that she’s being filmed, to which she responds, ‘I don’t give a s**t,’ added that the Joneses are ‘acting like people who aren’t normal.’
‘You know what?’ she continues. ‘You guys are acting like Black people and you should act like white people.’
Questioned as to why she was carrying a Taser, Dean says she’s doing so because her poodle was ‘attacked’ by the Joneses’ pit bull.
Dean eventually left the property, but not before threatening Jones and his family with legal action.

Gerritt’s sister, Jarielle Jones, posted footage of the exchange to Twitter and Instagram, which has since gone viral.
‘Me and my family have lived here for over 10+ years and today our racist white neighbor decided to come over and show her true colors,’ Jariell wrote in a post on Instagram. ‘[Dean] Lied and claimed our pit Bull attacked her dog WHEN WE HAVE VIDEO EVIDENCE THAT WAS A LIE (her dog wasn’t even outside originally). Said multiple racial slurs, charged after us with her taser multiple times and refused to leave our property until we called the cops.
‘I am TIRED of living this way. I am TIRED of passive aggressiveness. I am TIRED of the fake smiles. I am TIRED that I don’t feel safe in a house that I’ve lived in for 10+ years cause of the color of my skin. I’m f***ing tired,’ she continued.
In an interview with KGO, Gerritt said the racially-charged encounter is ‘unfortunately the reality of being black in America.'
‘She had a stun gun and if my sister or any of them got physical with her the story would've been here this Black family is assaulting just white lady in the streets,’ Gerritt continued. ‘I want my son to grow up and be proud of who he is. I hope that people all over the country learn from this see that this can't be tolerated.’
When reached by phone on Tuesday, Dean told the San Francisco Chronicle she only approached Gerritt Jones to ask whether his dog had a rabies shot.
‘The reason I went to them was because there was a dog in the street with a little boy — a little Black boy — so I knew whose it was,’ Dean said.

She denied making any racist comments and said that she believed the Joneses had doctored the footage.
‘I am almost 80 years old,’ Dean said. ‘I have worked most of my life. … There’s no racial discrimination here — absolutely none. I am completely aghast at what’s going on here.’
Dean then told the Chronicle that one of her best friends is black. She also denied that she was holding a stun gun, and said she was carrying a device that uses a bright light to chase aggressive dogs away.
Her husband, Peter Dean, also told the outlet his wife was not racist, but said both he and his wife suffer with memory problems.
The Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office confirmed it responded to the scene, though they determined no criminal acts took place.
‘Although Deputies determined that no crime had been committed, a report was taken to document the interaction between the two neighbors, as the original complaint was in reference to a neighbor dispute due to an off-leash dog,’ the agency said.
The Jones family denied the pit bull was off its leash and called the Deans’ accusations they doctored their video ‘delusional’.
‘She’s obviously lying, and it’s sad to see that she continues to lie, even after she’s been caught,’ Jariell told the Chronicle.
