Child is charged with murder after parents and two brothers, aged three and 12, are shot dead in their West Virginia family home
A child has been charged with murdering two adults and two children in West Virginia.
On Sunday morning a man, his wife and their three and 12-year-old sons were found dead suffering gunshot wounds by a relative around 10.40am on Sunday in their home on Cemetery Hill Drive in Elkview.
The relative had tried to get in contact with the family-of-five on Saturday and went to their house on Sunday to check in after they didn't hear back.
They found the front door unlocked and the dead bodies inside and called police.
The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office said a fifth resident of the house, a 16-year-old male family member, was found safely elsewhere.
Deputies then announced Sunday night a juvenile has been charged with four counts of murder in connection to the incident, but did not give their age, and did not clarify if it was 16-year-old from the home.

'We do know that a family member tried to get a hold of him yesterday, weren’t able to do so. When they couldn’t get a hold of him this morning that’s when one of the family members came in to check in on them and that’s when they were found,' Kanawha County Sheriff Mike Rutherford said on the teen that was located Sunday as per WOWKTV.
The sheriff’s office said they’ll release the names of the deceased tomorrow.
'We determined immediately on the deputies’ arrival they were all deceased,' Rutherford added.
Deputies say they’re unsure of exactly when the shooting unfolded but said next of kin has been notified. The investigation is ongoing.

'It’s a little nerve-wracking. You don’t expect this to be so close to home,' Mullins said.
'It’s just more stress. You know, we’re dealing with the COVID-19. It’s just more bad news,' Mullins added.
