Hamilton could be first show to reopen socially distanced Broadway after COVID-19... as there is hope to resume on July 4
Hamilton on Broadway is not throwing away its shot perhaps after audience members get their vaccine shot.
The smash-hit play written by Lin-Manuel Miranda could be the first show to reopen on Broadway at the historic Richard Rodgers Theatre.
The production is aiming for a return on USA's Independence Day of July 4, 2021 according to a Monday morning report from Page Six.

New York's Governor Andrew Cuomo is expected to reopen theaters on the Great White Way in June but it is expected to be at limited capacity.
As it will likely be a socially distanced affair, nearly all shows would be operating at a loss by performing in front of smaller audiences.
Hamilton is definitely an exception as Page Six reports that the show has so much in cash reserves that it could sustain itself no matter the size of the crowd.
Business Insider previously reported in July that the show makes an average of $600,000 in profit each week.

Insiders for Page Six told the publications that producers are hoping for a headlining-grabbing return to Broadway to parallel between the end of the Broadway shutdown and Independence Day celebrations.
The source said: 'In their heads, it’s all about being leaders in the theater community and blazing a trail.
'But the PR wouldn’t hurt, either. It’d be on the front pages of the paper.'
Obviously there always is a chance that vaccine rollouts could be successful and theaters could be opening much earlier than July.

Of course, Hamilton has quite the relationship with Independence Day as earlier this year it was fast-tracked by Disney+ to premiere on July 3rd and became a smashing success for the on-demand platform.
The filmed version of the staged musical was initially set to debut in the United States and Canada on October 15th.
The 11-time-Tony Award, Grammy Award, Olivier Award, and Pulitzer Prize-winning stage musical, which tells the story of American Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, was filmed at The Richard Rodgers Theatre on Broadway in New York City in June 2016.
