Bill Burr voices support for fired Mandalorian co-star Gina Carano calling her as an 'absolute sweetheart' and slamming woke critics who were 'waiting in the weeds' to cancel the conservative actress
Bill Burr has spoken out in support of his former Mandalorian co-star Gina Carano, three weeks after she was fired from the Disney+ series over her social media posts.
The conservative actress, 38, was let go by bosses on February 11 after she shared a post comparing the current political climate to that of Nazi Germany.
Fans of Carano claim she is a victim of cancel culture at the hands of a vocal 'woke mob' - and many have come to her defense.
DeRosa stated: 'You can say that her post was stupid or clumsy, but the reaction to it was so crazy.
'Whether you agree, disagree, whatever, I just don't get this place that we're in where there's no room for discussion about anything.
Burr - who plays Miggs Mayfield on the Star Wars spin-off series - concurred, saying: 'It's a weird time... She [Carano] was an absolute sweetheart. Super nice f*cking person.'
Burr added that he now has to censor himself given that he has a spot on the hit show.
'I'm on that f*cking show. Now, I gotta watch what the f*ck I say,' he stated.
'Someone will take this video and they'll make me say something else and try to get rid of my [Mandalorian] action figure…It's how it is out there. It's f*cking crazy times. People just waiting, laying in the weeds.'

Burr's statements come less than a week after Carano broke her silence following her firing.
In a sit down interview last Sunday, the actress told Ben Shapiro that she felt that she was a victim of double standards because her liberal co-stars were free to express their political beliefs.
'They'd been all over me and they'd been watching me like a hawk,' Carano said of the studio executives.
'And I'm watching other people on the same production and they can say everything they want, and that's where I had a problem.'
During the interview, Shapiro noted that Carano's co-star - left-wing lead actor Pedro Pascal - had also previously used Nazi comparisons in a social media post.
Back in 2018, Pascal shared an image to his Twitter account comparing US ICE detention centers to Nazi concentration camps.
Carano claimed that Pascal had been able to get away with such an act because he was a liberal, while she was punished because she was conservative.
However, she stated that she still was firm friends with Pascal in spite of their political differences.
'I adore Pedro,' Carano stated.
'We had an agreement after we realized we were a little bit politically different. We had an agreement that, first and foremost, you're a human being. And you're my friend first.'

She shared a message on Instagram Stories which stated: 'Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors.... even by children.'
'Because history is edited, most people today don't realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews.
'How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?'
The hashtag 'fire Gina Carano' soon began circulating.
Carano told Shapiro that she wasn't the only one who felt 'bullied' on set for their political beliefs, and claims others who held conservative views were reluctant to speak out
Carano told Shapiro that nobody at Disney or Lucasfilm spoke with her personally to inform her that she would not be returning to the hit streaming series.
'How I found out [that I was fired] was that I looked on the internet, and you know, you check your Twitter and I'm trending and the 'fire Gina Carano' hashtag worked,' she said.
Carano said that she was accidentally sent an email by a Disney employee. She said the email revealed that there were those in the company who 'went to bat for me' but 'they didn't win out at the end.'
The star insists she wasn't the only one who felt 'bullied' on set for their political beliefs, and claims others who held conservative views were reluctant to speak out.
'I'm not the only one that's ever been bullied by this company, and I know that so deeply.'
'I've seen the bullying that takes place, and so when this started, they point their guns at you, and you know it's only a matter of time.'
She added: 'I've seen it happen to so many people, and I just thought to myself (…) 'you're coming for me, I know you are.'
'They're making it very obvious through their employees who were coming for me, and so I was like, 'I'm going to go down swinging and I'm going to stay true to myself''.
