Revealed: Mom-of-three who went missing three months ago made an appointment to see a lawyer and begin divorce proceedings on the same day she disappeared
A Southern California woman who disappeared from her almost three months ago amid purported marriage troubles was to see a divorce lawyer on the day she disappeared.
Maya Millete, 39, a mom-of-three, was last seen at her home in Chula Vista near San Diego on the afternoon of January 7.
Maya's husband of 21 years, Larry, reported her missing three days later. Detectives noticed that Maya's car was still parked outside the property at the time.
But Maricris Drouaillet, Maya's sister has revealed that she had booked an appointment with a lawyer with the intention of starting divorce proceedings.
Maya 'May' Millete, 39, was last seen at her Chula Vista residence by family on the afternoon of January 7 and had made an appointment with a divorce lawyer that week. She never made it
Maya's sister, Maricris Drouaillets, revealed that Maya had made an appointment to see a divorce lawyer
She also revealed that Maya had asked her for $10,000 the week she vanished.
'The date, the scheduled date to meet with the divorce lawyer, that was done Thursday afternoon,' Maricris said to Fox 5.
'According to the divorce lawyer, she wanted to have the birthday celebration first, her daughter's birthday celebration was on Sunday, so she wanted to wait.'
The appointment had been made for the following Tuesday but Maya never made it.
Maricris and her husband, Richard, Maya's brother-in-law have both been at every search for Maya since the alarm was raised, while her husband, Larry, has not.

It had been previously reported that Larry has retained a lawyer and is no longer cooperating with police in their investigation.
In February, the Drouaillets told DailyMail.com that the couple had been having marriage problems prior to her disappearance.
'For a year or two, it has been kind of rocky relationship,' Maricris said of her sister's marriage with Larry. 'They even tried marriage counseling.'
'When we do have a get together they would be there arguing... and then another time, they would be close again. Like oh ok, they worked it out. So it had been like that for the last year.'
Posters of the missing mother-of-three have been posted around the area
Posters have been stuck up on nearby hiking trails close to the Chula Vista home she lived

Richard added: 'They argued a lot and it was a little bit uncomfortable. It was weird because Larry was acting different. He wasn't acting like Larry. He was acting different... They were done. The relationship was done. You could just tell.'
Chula Vista police searched Maya and Larry's home around two months ago but no new information has been released.
'It doesn't add up. They have camera surveillance from all the neighbors,' Richard Drouaillet said. 'They said they have over 100 hours to review, and three months later, you're still looking at those 100 hours — reviewing those videos. Something's got to give.'
The family now appear to be growing frustrated over the perceived lack of answers 11 weeks after Maya went missing.
Maricris and Richard even consulted the help on an investigator with the Cold Case Foundation who specialize in tracking down missing people and solving murders.
Potential evidence was said to have been submitted to Chula Vista police but department turned down the outside help.
'There are thousands of unsolved cases out there, and I don't know why those thousands are unsolved,' Richard Little of the Cold Case Foundation said. 'But this one does not need to be unsolved. This one can be solved.'

Maricris told DailyMail.com that she does not harbor ill feelings towards Larry and his family.
'I don't want to cut ties with them,' she stated. 'I don't want to burn bridges. They are still family.'
She previously told NBC7 that she 'can't imagine' Larry harming her sister.
Maricris told the news network that she hopes her brother-in-law joins in the search for Maya.
'Show that you do care for my sister. Show that you do love her. That's all I'm asking.'
Detectives have said there are currently no persons of interest in the investigation.
