'Trump wanted to put a man on Mars. Biden wants you to eat ribs with family on July 4': Stephen Miller ridicules Biden's 'gloomy' COVID address and says President is 'deliberately setting low goals
Stephen Miller has slammed Joe Biden's first prime time address to the nation, describing it as 'gloomy' and accusing the new Commander-in-chief of setting 'unambitious and uninspiring goals'.
Miller - who served as senior advisor to President Trump - made the remarks on Fox Business Friday, one day after Biden delivered his televised speech.
During the address, Biden vowed that every American adult would be eligible to receive their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine by May 1, and said that if coronavirus case numbers continued to fall that small groups may be able to gather together on Independence Day.
'John F. Kennedy said let's put a man on the moon. Donald Trump said let's put a man on Mars. Joe Biden said let's see if you can eat BBQ ribs with your own relatives and loved ones July 4,' Miller mocked during his interview with Larry Kudlow.
'Newsflash to the Biden administration: People have been doing that throughout the pandemic with their own family members.'

Partway through the speech, Biden stated: 'July 4th with your loved ones is the goal. But a goal - a lot can happen. Conditions can change. The scientists have made clear that things may get worse again as new variants of the virus spread.'
Miller claimed that part of Biden's speech had threatening and intimidating undertones to it.
'The speechwriters clearly thought it would be an effective cudgel to threaten people with an "or else,"' Miller stated.
'That's not how you inspire people... It's not the American rhetorical tradition. People respond to positive energy, to optimism, to painting a picture of what can be achieved in the best of circumstances,' he said.
'Threatening people with punitive measures and saying if you don't do it this way, I will shut everything down - It's mean-spirited.'

Meanwhile, other conservatives have slammed Biden for taking sole credit for America's vaccine roll-out, despite the fact his Administration has heavily relied on Donald Trump's Operation Warp Speed initiative.
In his address to the nation on Thursday night, the new President touted the fact all Americans could receive their first shot by May 1 because of the work he had done in partnering with vaccine manufacturers.
He did not acknowledge the role his predecessor played in process.
Sean Hannity led the outrage stating on his Fox News show: 'Joe, you want unity? Why don't you just thank Donald Trump? You want us all to get along, you say. No Trump, no vaccine, Joe. Stop trying to take credit for something, frankly, you had nothing to do with. Nothing.'
Katie Pavlich told her 807,000 Twitter followers: 'Biden taking credit for the vaccine is just absolutely astonishing, but not surprising'.
'Who let him out of the basement?' actor Terrence K. Williams asked. 'Joe Biden is taking credit for the things President Trump made happen in this horrible presidential address. Operation Warp Speed created by Trump is the reason the rollout of the vaccine is successful.'
The Trump Administration established Operation Warp Speed last April to facilitate and accelerate the development, manufacturing, and distribution of COVID vaccines.
The public-private partnership has been lauded by people on both sides of the aisle. In recent days, even mainstream media outlets such as ABC and The New York Times have credited Trump with contributing the success of the vaccines.
Both publications have criticized Biden for failing to truthfully acknowledge that fact.
