More Details on Joe Biden’s Outlandish Supreme Court Executive Order from Last Friday
Last Friday Joe Biden announced an executive order to look into packing the US Supreme Court.
The Executive Order on the Establishment of the Presidential Commission on the Supreme Court of the United States is accessible via The White House webpage. This Executive Order creates a Commission, composed of not more than 36 members all appointed by the President, to provide an analysis on Supreme Court reform including court-packing, judicial term limits and other proposals. The functions of this Commission are as stated:
To provide “An account of the contemporary commentary and debate about the role and operation of the Supreme Court in our constitutional system and about the functioning of the constitutional process by which the President nominates and, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, appoints Justices to the Supreme Court;”. What does this mean? In layman’s terms, this Commission will put forth progressive ideas aimed at changing the way Supreme Court operates and how Justices are appointed. The Commission will also provide “An analysis of the principal arguments in the contemporary public debate for and against Supreme Court reform, including an appraisal of the merits and legality of particular reform proposals.”
When looking further into this executive order, you find that “Members of the Commission shall serve without compensation for their work on the Commission, but shall be allowed travel expenses, including per diem in lieu of subsistence, to the extent permitted by law for persons serving intermittently in the Government service (5 U.S.C. 5701-5707).” Moreover, “The Commission shall terminate 30 days after it submits its report to the President.”, which will come no later than 180 days after Commission’s first public meeting.
What will come out of a Commission composed of individuals appointed by President Joe Biden alone? A committee specifically designed to fundamentally change the Supreme Court, perhaps in ways that some may not even consider legal, and then be terminated shortly after?
The Biden administration already appears to be the most radical in US history topping Barack Obama and Woordrow Wilson. And, the regime has not even hit the 100 day mark yet!
