Bodycam captures moment cop single-handedly LIFTS overturned car off Virginia mother thrown outside vehicle after crash
A sheriff's deputy in Virginia has been praised for his heroism after his body camera caught the moment he single-handedly lifted an overturned car off a woman to save her life 'through sheer will and determination.'
The woman had been trapped under the car after it wrecked on May 7 in Gloucester County as her desperate son cried out 'mommy! mommy!' before the deputy was able to rescue her, the Gloucester County Sheriff's Office said in a press release.
Deputy Jon Holt has since been praised by the sheriff's office - which revealed that had recently received local and regional Top Cop Awards for saving a disabled young girl and woman from a burning home last March.
In the video of the wreck, Deputy Holt tells dispatchers that the vehicle had flipped upside down while arriving at the scene.
He then hops out of the patrol car and rushes over to the overturned vehicle wile someone at the scene cries out for help. He asks if the mom was underneath the car.

Deputy Holt informs dispatchers that her head is pinned underneath the car's sunroof.
'Come here buddy,' the deputy tells the boy to get him to back away from the car.
Deputy Holt's body camera is then pressed up against the car, the screen showing black, as he is heard grunting while lifting the car up.
The woman is then able to apparently remove her head from beneath the trapped vehicle, according to the audio. It was unclear what injuries the woman suffered and her condition after her rescue.
The incredible video has since gone viral after being shared on Tuesday by the sheriff's office - with more than 84,000 views on Facebook.
'Seeing the trauma her child was witnessing, Deputy J. Holt went into overdrive,' the sheriff's office said.
'Through sheer will and determination due to fearing the female may succumb to her circumstance in front of her panic-stricken child, Deputy J. Holt took quick action and was able to physically lift the vehicle up enough for the driver to maneuver her head out to safety.'
Deputy Holt has also been praised for his heroism after he pulled a woman and a young girl from a burning home on March 24, 2020 and later discovering that they had physical disabilities that prevented them from escaping on their own, officials said in a Facebook post.
'While on patrol, Deputy J. Holt responded to assist with a structure fire with occupants still in the residence. As he arrived, he heard a female yelling that there were people inside the home,' the post reads.

The Gloucester County Sheriff's Office praised the deputy's heroism in a Facebook post
The deputy then crawled inside the smoke-filled structure and found the woman, low-crawling while by dragging her to safety.
'Without hesitation, Dep. J. Holt reentered the structure by low crawling once again and searching for additional victims,' officials said.
As the blaze grew and the heat rose, he found the young girl and grabbed her by her waist to drag her out the front door to safety as well.
'Believing that an infant was still unaccounted for, Dep. J. Holt, again without regard for his wellbeing, entered the house now fully engulfed by the fire for a third time to search for the baby,' officials said.
He was unable to find the infant, and left the home to gather more information about where he may have been, before reentering a fourth time to search for the infant again.
It was later discovered that the infant had been safely removed from the home before Deputy Holt's arrival.
Those two victims suffered second- and third-degree burns across 50% of their bodies, officials said.
'Without his 'never give up' mentality, the outcome would have been much more devastating,' the sheriff's office said.
