Trump Lashes Out at the 35 House Republicans Who Joined Democrats and Voted in Favor of Pelosi’s January 6 Commission
President Trump on Thursday released a statement blasting the 35 House Republicans who joined Democrats and voted in favor of a January 6 Commission.
The House of Representatives on Wednesday voted to establish a commission to probe the January 6 Capitol riot.
The January 6 commission passed 252 to 175 with 35 Republicans joining Democrats and voting in favor.
Trump blasted the “35 wayward Republicans” and suggested they will likely get booted from office in the 2022 midterms.
“We have much better policy and are much better for the Country, but the Democrats stick together, the Republicans don’t. They don’t have the Romney’s, Little Ben Sasse’s, and Cheney’s of the world. Unfortunately, we do. Sometimes there are consequences to being ineffective and weak. The voters understand!”
The January 6 commission is pretty much Trump impeachment 3.0.
The bill will establish a 10-person commission with 5 Republicans and 5 Democrats from the House and Senate.
The lawmakers will have subpoena power and produce a report on their findings.
Some lawmakers have floated the idea of forcing Trump to testify about ‘his role’ in the Capitol riot.
