Colorado State University student, 24, who made comments about how he 'liked to kill people' is arrested after cops find cache of loaded weapons and nearly 1,000 rounds of ammunition in his truck
A Colorado State University student who allegedly made threats towards staff and and other students was arrested when cops found a cache of loaded weapons and 1,000 rounds of ammunition in his truck on campus.
Pueblo County Sheriff's Office said they were tipped off that Robert James Killis, 24, had been making comments around the campus about how he 'liked to kill people' and discussing how he owns body armor, semi-automatic rifles, shotguns and other weapons.
Witnesses also claimed Killis made threats towards university staff and students, according to a statement from the sheriff's office.
Detectives said they began tailing Killis, who is said to have previous military experience, on Monday, and found his 2020 Chey Silverado filled with weapons, a bulletproof vest and an ammunition box.
Killis was arrested on Tuesday.

'By reporting suspicions to our deputies in a timely manner, we were able to quickly investigate and take this person into custody before any harm could be done,' said Pueblo County Sheriff Kirk Taylor.
'Out of an overabundance of caution, there will be an added law enforcement presence at the university and our deputies will be available to address any concerns from students and faculty.'
Detectives waited until Killis was away from campus before arresting him, and Killis told officers that while he was not carrying a weapon at the time, he did have guns in his truck.
The officers searched the truck and found a loaded semi-automatic rifle, a shotgun and a handgun.
The Sheriff's Office credited its detectives quick action and the tips that came in for the successful arrest of Killis, which occurred without any incident at the college campus
There were also several fully loaded, high-capacity magazines set up in a 'tactical manner' along with the ammunition box filled with nearly 1,000 rounds of ammo.
Other tactical equipment was also found in the truck, police say.
Police say they found another handgun with about 100 rounds of ammunition and other suspicious items in Killis home.
Killis was arrested for unlawful carrying and possessing a weapon on a university campus in accordance to Pueblo County law. He was booked in Pueblo County Jail.
The Colorado State University did not immediately respond to DailyMail.com's request for comment.
The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate the case along with university officials and local, state and federal law enforcement agencies.
