Former President Donald Trump evoked an anti-Semitic trope when describing his son-in-law Jared Kushner, according to Bob Woodward and Bob Costa new book, 'Peril.'
'"You know," Trump joked in a White House meeting, mocking his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, who was raised in a modern Orthodox Jewish family and was working on Middle East peace, "Jared's more loyal to Israel than the United States,"' Woodward and Costa wrote, according to Insider.
Suggesting that American Jews are more loyal to Israel than the United States or hold a dual allegiance 'has been used to harass, marginalize and persecute the Jewish people for centuries,' the Anti-Defamation League told Insider.

The New York Times reported in 2019 that the smear is often used by 'white supremacists who claim there is a secret plot orchestrated by Jews to replace white people through mass migration and racial integration.'
The Times wrote about the vilification of Jews in this fashion on the heels of Trump saying that American Jews who voted for Democrats were disloyal.
He said there was a 'total lack of knowledge or great disloyalty,' highlighting controversial comments made by Reps. Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib, who are Muslim. Additionally, Tlaib is of Palestinian descent.
The former president and his Republican allies have called Democrats who have been critical of Israel's government anti-Semitic.
Meanwhile, Trump has deployed the anti-Semitic dual loyalty trope on several occasion.
