“America is the Land of the Free” – Boxing Legend Floyd Mayweather Backs Kyrie Irving’s Stance Against COVID Vaccine (VIDEO)
Boxing legend Floyd Mayweather posted a video on his Twitter account on Monday supporting the Brooklyn Nets All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving who’s being banned from the team for refusing to take the jab.
In the short clip, Mayweather elaborated that Kyrie has the right to choose to take the vaccine or not. He believes Americans still have their God-given rights to freedom and self-determination.
“Kyrie, what’s up? I know you’re going through a lot. We had a chance to hang out in 2016, when you represented America – when you represented the Red, White, and Blue. You only want to be treated fairly,” Mayweather said referring to Kyrie’s participation in the 2016 Olympics.
“America is the land of the free. Freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and supposedly, freedom to choose. Never be controlled by money,” Mayweather added.
“I respect you for having some integrity and being your own man. A free mind makes his own choices, and an enslaved mind follows the crowd. Stand for something or fall for anything. One man can lead a revolution to stand up and fight for what’s right. One choice, one word, one action can change the world. It’s crazy how people hate you for being a leader. I hope your actions encourage many others to stand up and say, ‘enough is enough.’ Respect to you Kyrie and power to the people.”
Earlier this month, Brooklyn general manager Sean Marks said in a statement that Kyrie will not be playing until he gets the vaccine. “Given the evolving nature of the situation and after thorough deliberation, we have decided Kyrie Irving will not play or practice with the team until he is eligible to be a full participant.”
On Sunday, Black Lives Matter and anti-mandate protesters joined forced to storm Brooklyn’s Barclays Center in support of Kyrie Irving, an NBA player who has been banned from playing for not being vaccinated.
The unlikely mix of protesters from across the political spectrum were chanting “Stand With Kyrie” as they burst through the doors during Sunday’s game.
