Top Russian dentist, 35, plunges 90ft to her death from ninth floor Covid ward days after her medical expert parents both died of virus: Fatality follows spate of similar window falls by Russian doctors during pandemic
A top female dentist fell to her death from a ninth-floor hospital Covid ward - days after her parents died from the virus.
Darya Khorovskaya, 35, a highly respected Russian orthodontist, was found alive but died later from her injuries in St Petersburg, according to reports.
It has since been revealed that her mother, Professor Lina Khorovskaya, 58, an internationally recognised expert in clinical diagnostics, had died from Covid four days earlier.
Her father Oleg Khorovsky, 58, the head of a leading private dental hospital also died after contracting coronavirus in late September.
The fall follows a spate of similar deaths by Russian doctors during the pandemic.

The tragic orthodontist was close to both her parents and devastated over their deaths, said other patients in her ward at Elizavetinskaya Hospital.
Dr Khorovskaya was reported to be 'deeply depressed' at their loss.
She fell from a window on the ninth floor 90 feet up, according to reports, and sustained multiple injuries.
She had been admitted to hospital with Covid-19 'complications' two days after her mother's death.

Dr Khorovskaya - who worked at her father's clinic - was found alive, and rushed to intensive care but medics could not save her.
Her father had opened the first International standard dental surgery after the fall of Communism, and had worked in the US.
Her mother was a longstanding member of the American Association of Clinical Chemistry (AACC).
It was unclear if the family had been jabbed for Covid-19.
Their deaths come as Russia is experiencing its worst rate of Covid-19 infections and deaths, according to official figures.
Deaths on Sunday were reported as 997 but had passed the 1,000-a-day mark for the first time last week. Some 34,303 new infections were reported.
It was unclear if Dr Khorovskaya or her parents had received vaccination jabs for Covid-19
The fall follows spate of similar deaths by Russian doctors from hospital earlier on in the pandemic
The high official death rate - which some experts say underscores the real toll - comes despite Russian being the first country in the world to approve a vaccine to fight Covid-19.
Dr Khorovskaya's fall brings back concerns from earlier in the pandemic about a number of Covid-19 patients and doctors who had jumped to their deaths from hospitals.
In June 2020, police forensic expert Lt Col Natalya Shcherbakova, 45, was fatally injured after she fell from a fifth floor hospital window in Moscow.
She was put on a life support machine but later died, say police sources.
Dr Khorovskaya's fall brings back concerns from earlier in the pandemic about a number of Covid-19 patients and doctors who had jumped to their deaths from hospitals. Last year, Dr Natalya Lebedeva, 48, (left) plunged 60ft to her death from the sixth floor of a Moscow hospital. Dr Yelena Nepomnyashchaya, 47, (right) a mother of two from a medical family, sustained fatal injuries after falling 60ft from a window at her Krasnoyarsk hospital
Reports of her deaths came after two senior female Russian doctors sustained fatal injuries after falling from hospital windows.
Dr Natalya Lebedeva, 48, plunged 60ft to her death from the sixth floor of a Moscow hospital after colleagues said she was unfairly blamed for the spread of coronavirus at her clinic in Star City, near Moscow, the training centre for cosmonauts.
She had become infected from Covid-19.
Dr Yelena Nepomnyashchaya, 47, a mother of two from a medical family, sustained fatal injuries after falling 60ft from a window at her Krasnoyarsk hospital in Siberia.
Colleagues said she had complained about an 'acute shortage' of personal protection equipment for doctors and nurses.
