As Energy Prices Skyrocket...Biden Regime In Talks To Shut Down Another Major Pipeline, Causing Massive Job Losses In 3 Swing States
Last week, when Biden’s Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm, who is also the former Democrat governor of MI, was asked by Bloomberg host Tom Keene about boosting America’s domestic oil production, she laughed, calling it “hilarious.”
Bloomberg host Tom Keene noted America’s rising gas prices and asked the energy secretary, “What is the Granholm plan to increase oil production in America?”
Granholm immediately began laughing. “That is hilarious,” she said. Would that I had the magic wand on this.”
“As you know, of course, oil is a global market. It is controlled by a cartel. That cartel is called OPEC, and they made a decision yesterday that they were not going to increase beyond what they were already planning.”

Since his installment in January 2021, President Biden and his behind-the-scenes regime have made it a priority to decimate America’s fossil-fuel industry. Shutting down the Keystone XL pipeline was first on their list of priorities.
In June, Biden suspended oil drilling leases in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, the latest move in a series of sweeping policy changes to how the U.S. approaches the oil industry.
Now, it’s being reported that the Biden regime is considering shutting down the Line 5 pipeline that links Superior, Wisconsin, with Sarnia, Ontario. Line 5 is part of a network that moves crude oil and other petroleum products from western Canada to Escanaba, Michigan, and transports approximately 540,000 barrels each day.
Daily Mail – The Biden Administration is considering shutting down a Michigan oil pipeline in another push to get the U.S away from fossil fuels, despite warnings from Republican lawmakers who believe the move would result in fuel price shocks throughout the Midwest.
The administration is exploring the possibility of terminating the Line 5 pipeline – which links Superior, Wisconsin, with Sarnia, Ontario – and gathering data to determine if shutting down the line will cause a surge in fuel pricing, according to published reports.
In a letter dated Thursday, 13 Congress members – led by Ohio Rep. Bob Latta – urged the president to keep the oil line in operation, saying: ‘Line 5 is essential to the lifeblood of the Midwest.’
According to the lawmakers, the administration’s move to terminate Line 5’s operation is part of a move to “appease environmental groups.”
‘Should this pipeline be shut down, tens of thousands of jobs would be lost across Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, and the region; billions of dollars in economic activity would be in jeopardy, and the environment would be at greater risk due to additional trucks operating on roadways and railroads carrying hazardous materials,’ the legislators wrote.
‘Furthermore, as we enter the winter months and temperatures drop across the Midwest, the termination of Line 5 will undoubtedly further exacerbate shortages and price increases in home heating fuels like natural gas and propane at a time when Americans are already facing rapidly rising energy prices, steep home heating costs, global supply shortages, and skyrocketing gas prices.’
In November 2020, Michigan’s current Democrat Governor Gretchen Whitmer, who is frequently compared to Michigan’s other disastrous female Democrat governor and Biden’s new Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm, shut down the Line 5 pipeline, citing concerns over a possible leak into the Great Lakes. Enbridge refused to shut down the pipeline.
The state sued to enforce the order, which is pending as a federal judge considers whether to retain jurisdiction or send the case to a Michigan court.
The controversial Line 5 was manually shut down by far-left activists on October 20 when a radical activist dressed up as a pipeline worker traveled to a Tuscola County Enbridge station in Vassar and physically turned the valve to shut down the Line 5 oil pipeline for several hours.
They proudly posted a video of the activist breaking the law:

The Canadian oil company is currently considered an international trespasser in the Straits of Mackinac with its continued operation of Line 5. Gov. Gretchen Whitmer had ordered the company to cease operations in the Straits by May 12, but Enbridge has refused to comply without the backing of a court order.
In the State of Michigan v Enbridge lawsuit, a federal judge is currently weighing whether a state or federal court will oversee the proceedings that will ultimately determine whether or not Whitmer’s order will be upheld.
Curiously, less than one month later, another radical leftist group in the White House has set their sights on the shutdown of Line 5, but they won’t need to wait for a judge to make the call, they can rely on the heavy hand of the federal government to shut it down.
