“Bipartisanship in DC is when Republicans cave to Democrats” McConnell and RINO Colleagues Betray Voters Yet Again
Mitch McConnell and his RINO colleagues in the Senate plan to cave to Democrats once again and raise the debt ceiling after claiming they would not vote to do it again in October. McConnell is not only caving to Democrats, he is also trying to pull the wool over voters eyes by using a creative workaround to argue that he didn’t vote for the increase. McConnell and his colleagues plan to vote for a bill temporarily halting the filibuster on spending bills, making it so Democrats only need a simple majority to pass them. The Hill Reports–
“House Democrats on Tuesday introduced legislation that would allow the Senate to raise the debt ceiling without having to overcome a filibuster.
The legislation would set up a one-time process to raise the debit limit to a specific number without requiring 60 votes to overcome procedural roadblocks. After that process is established with the help of Republicans, then Democrats are expected to pass the separate debt-ceiling increase without any GOP support.
Senate Republicans emerging from a meeting with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) Tuesday said the proposal will pass the Senate with at least 10 Republican votes.”
If the bill to raise the debt ceiling is passed, it is expected to raise it by about $2 Trillion. Some Republicans questioned this decision. Rep. Chip Roy (R-Tx.) rightly called it “swamp spending”.
Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Co.) said that in her first year in Congress she’s seen a lot of “swampy moves” in DC but that this one “beats all of them”. She further says that the move is “Totally corrupt” and “Screws the American people right in their faces, blatantly and in broad daylight”. She astutely observes that “Bipartisanship in DC is when Republicans cave to Democrats, it never goes the other way”.
