BREAKING: 4th Victim of Oxford High School Student Dies...Here Are The Details

 Four people have now died and seven have been injured in a mass shooting at Oxford High School that happened on Tuesday.  17 year-old Justin Shilling succumbed to injuries sustained from the shooting at the McLarend Oakland Hospital this morning.

Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard shared updated information about the other eight victims who, as of 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, are still alive and being treated:

One victim is a 15-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to the head. He’s in critical condition.

Another victim is a 14-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to the head and jaw. He’s in serious condition.

A 17-year-old girl is stable after being shot in the neck. 

Another victim, a 15-year-old boy, was shot in the leg and is stable.

A 47-year-old teacher was grazed with a bullet. 

A 14-year-old is fighting for his life with chest and neck wounds. The sheriff said he’s currently on a ventilator after surgery.

UPDATE: 17-yr-old Justin Shilling died this morning.

 

As the tragic story continues to unfold, a tale of heroism by one young man killed in the senseless violence emerged today. One of the victims, 16 year-old Tate Myre, was shot and killed while trying to disarm the shooter.  He has been recognized for his bravery nationally and in his community.

A petition was started on change.org to name the Wildcats football stadium after Tate.  The petition has attracted more than 50,000 signatures.

“Tate is not just a hero to his fellow students at Oxford high school but a legend, his act of bravery should be remembered forever and passed down through generations, he put his life in danger to try and help the thousands of other students at Oxford High School,” the change.org petition states.
