Liberal Rag Openly Asks “Is Criticizing Joe Biden A Danger To Democracy?”
As President Biden’s approval ratings continue to plummet and his administration has begged the media for favorable coverage, the liberal rag New Republic openly asked if criticizing Joe Biden was a threat to democracy. The article begins by saying that a debate has emerged about whether “The media must protect Biden to save the republic.”
The article hilariously attempts to argue that the media coverage surrounding Biden’s administration has been worse than the media’s coverage of President Trump. “The country is in an existential struggle between self-governance and an authoritarian alternative. And we in the news media, collectively, have given equal, if not slightly more favorable, treatment to the authoritarians.” The Washington Post’s Dana Milbank concludes in an article quoted by the New Republic.
Politico’s Ryan Lizza criticized the idea that the media should go soft on Biden to ‘protect democracy’, saying “No respectable model of salvaging democratic norms would include badgering journalists to write only positive stories about the most powerful person in the world.”
Reports have emerged that the White House has been in talks with major media outlets, begging them for more favorable coverage on the economy. Less than a week after this was revealed, CNBC’s Jim Kramer claimed that the US has “The strongest economy, perhaps, I’ve ever seen.” and analogized the current US economy to the Roaring 20’s.
The media’s propaganda campaign comes alongside cratering approval ratings for President Joe Biden. A USA Today/Suffolk poll in November saw his approval ratings dip to 38%, with 59% of voters disapproving of his job performance, a net approval rating of -21%. Further, 64% of Americans said they do not want Biden to run for a second term.
