Jan. 6 Panel Targets Another Fellow Lawmaker, Seeks Testimony From GOP Leader McCarthy
The illegitimate January 6 Committee is targeting another fellow lawmaker.
The Jan 6 panel is seeking testimony from Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy as he plans to strip Adam Schiff, Ilhan Omar and Eric Swalwell of their committee assignments.
Politico reported:
The Jan. 6 select committee has requested House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s testimony about his interactions with Donald Trump as a mob swarmed the Capitol.
The request follows months of speculation about when the panel would seek the California Republican’s cooperation with their probe.
The committee has raised questions about McCarthy’s conversation with Trump on Jan. 6, which was fleshed out during the then-president’s impeachment trial last February. According to Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler (R-Wash.), McCarthy described the call as tense and that Trump initially suggested it wasn’t his supporters storming the Capitol.
When McCarthy told him it was, Trump replied, “Well, Kevin, I guess these people are more upset about the election than you are,” per Herrera Beutler’s account of McCarthy’s summary of the call.
McCarthy this week told Breitbart News he will strip Democrat Reps. Swalwell, Schiff and Omar of their committee assignments if the GOP takes the House this year.
Via Breitbart News:
House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy told Breitbart News that as speaker of the House he would strip Reps. Adam Schiff (D-CA) and Eric Swalwell (D-CA) of their assignments on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) of her committee assignment on the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
McCarthy also said Swalwell would not be allowed to serve on the Homeland Security Committee either. McCarthy’s comments came during the latest On The Hill long-form video special, taped in December at an Eastern Market establishment on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC.
The Marxists on the January 6 panel also targeted Congressman Jim Jordan.
Congressman Jordan told the January 6 panel to pound sand after they asked him to provide information about his communications with Trump about the Jan. 6 Capitol protest.
