Virginia Democrats Refuse to Applaud Governor Youngkin During His First Address to Joint Assembly (VIDEO)
Virginia Democrats on Monday refused to applaud when Governor Youngkin said parents have the fundamental right to make decisions with regard to their child’s education.
Newly sworn in Governor Glenn Youngkin addressed the Virginia General Assembly on Monday.
In his first State of the Commonwealth address, Youngkin asked the split General Assembly (GOP-led House and Dem-led Senate) to come together.
“I’m asking each of us in this body, Republicans and Democrats alike, to come together,” Youngkin said. “To rise above the Richmond of division, special interests, the small and the parochial and to usher in a sweeping vision of change. And to put this commonwealth on a pathway to prosperity.”
The Democrats refused to applaud when Youngkin told parents they, “have a fundamental right, enshrined in law by this General Assembly, to make decisions with regard to your child’s upbringing, education and care. And we will protect and reassert that right.”
Critical race theory and concerns about safety in schools were the top issues for Virginia voters in November after a female high school student was raped in a girl’s bathroom by a ‘transgender’ boy wearing a skirt.
Virginia Democrats are so tone deaf that they don’t even realize their lack of respect for parents is why they lost most seats in November.
