Looks VERY familiar! Don Jr. posts screenshot claiming to be Trump's first post on upcoming new $1b Truth Social platform

Former President Donald Trump may be back on social media soon and using a platform that looks very similar to Twitter.

His son, Donald Trump Jr., tweeted a screenshot of the former president's alleged first post on his upcoming social media platform Truth Social.

'Time for some Truth!!!' Donald Jr. wrote Tuesday night, sharing a photo of the alleged Truth Social post from his father, which reads: 'Get ready! Your favorite president will see you soon.'

Echoing Donald Jr.'s claims, social media users claim that the beta version of Truth Social launched for certain users, including the former president.

'TRUTH Social (beta) has dropped and President Trump is active on his own account!' tweeted Liz Willis, VP of operations at Right Side Broadcasting Network. 'The world is healing.'

Trump is planning to launch the Truth Social platform on February 21 - Presidents' Day - according to its Apple App Store listing. The platform appears to be an almost exact replica of Twitter.

Trump has talked up his plans to take on Big Tech ever since he was banned from Twitter and Facebook during the aftermath of the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, when his supporters attacked police and stormed Congress.

He announced he was launching Trump Media Technology Group toward the end of last year, with plans for a subscription video-on-demand service called TMTG+ with entertainment, news and podcasts, as well as the new social media platform.

Screenshots of Trump's Truth Social account show he reportedly joined the social media network on February 10.

As of midday Tuesday, he had 175 followers. It is unclear if his follower count has since grown as the platform is still not accessible to all.

A DailyMail.com reporter attempted to request access to the platform but was placed on a waitlist.

According to images shared online, the platform looks very similar to Twitter, which Trump was an avid user on before being suspended.

A prior test version of the social media site was located online in December, less than two months after the mobile beta was made accessible to a handful of journalists, DailyDot reported.

The site showed a login page intended for users who had been granted early access to the platform.

'Welcome to the TRUTH Social Beta Release,' the welcome message stated. 'We're so excited to have you here and we really appreciate your patience while we're actively making the TRUTH more accessible to everyone.'

The beta site was taken down shortly after its URL was shared online. The website domain now redirects users to truthsocial.com, where they, too, can join the waitlist.

Last month, TMTG was valued at $5.3 billion based on the stock price of Digital World Acquisition Corp (DWAC) - a so-called blank check company being used to take the Trump venture public -  which rose 20 percent after details emerged of the platform's app store listing.

It is unclear what the company is currently valued at.

TMTG is a privately traded company with almost no public information available about its business, finances, executives or other operations, Bloomberg reported.

However, in October the company announced a merger with DWAC, which was said to have contributed $293million in cash to TMTG in exchange for stock in the company.

DWAC hit a market capitalization of nearly $1.5billion when the merger news broke.

Trump, who will serve as TMTG's chairman, first announced the creation of Truth Social last fall, saying the platform would create a rival social network to the current 'liberal media consortium' and 'fight back against the 'Big Tech' companies of Silicon Valley, which have used their unilateral power to silence opposing voices in America.

'I created TRUTH Social and TMTG to stand up to the tyranny of Big Tech. We live in a world where the Taliban has a huge presence on Twitter, yet your favorite American President has been silenced,' he said in October.

'This is unacceptable. I am excited to send out my first TRUTH on TRUTH Social very soon. TMTG was founded with a mission to give a voice to all. I'm excited to soon begin sharing my thoughts on TRUTH Social and to fight back against Big Tech. Everyone asks me why doesn't someone stand up to Big Tech? Well, we will be soon!'

Along with social media service, TMTG also plans to launch a subscription video on demand service called TMTG+, which it says will feature 'non-woke' entertainment programing, news, podcasts and more.

Scott St. John, executive producer of Deal or No Deal and America's Got Talent, was named head of TMTG+ Corporate Operations and will oversee the service.

Trump's creation on Truth Social comes as he was banned from Twitter, Facebook and Instagram earlier this year following the January 6 Capitol Hill riot in 2021. The Twitter ban is permanent, with Facebook and Instagram saying they'll consider reinstating Trump at a later date.

Trump famously used Twitter to reveal policy decisions, fire aides and argue with critics, and considered it a vital means of communication with his 88 million followers, many of them supporters.

The president is among those being investigated by the January 6 committee for allegedly knowing about the riot before hand and helping to organize it.

The former president had previously lashed out against the companies, claiming they were infringing on his freedom of speech and run by 'Radical Left Lunatics.'

With his social media presence hindered, Trump had been left to communicate with supporters through his website, From the Desk of Donald J. Trump, which was launched in May.

The anticipated launch of the platform was met with mixed reaction on Twitter.

'I just signed up. Twitter's time is up,' wrote social media user Thiago Viana.

'#TruthSocial is #DonaldTrump’s TERRORISM NETWORK,' slammed user @JamusB.

'It will help @FBI, @CIA and @INTERPOL_HQ IMMENSELY by concentrating criminal elements on the one platform, making it even easier to taken them down. #DTTN #DonaldTrumpTerrorismNetwork. Darker than the DARKEST Web.'

'Truth Social sounds a lot like the Fyre festival; you know, the one even Anna Delvey said no to,' wrote @gillyworks, referring to the fraudulent luxury music festival founded by con artist Billy McFarland and rapper Ja Rule and the woman who defrauded banks, New York high society members and hotels by pretending to be a wealthy German heiress.

'My favorite president will see me soon? I can't wait to meet Joe or Barack!' wrote @ianinamerica.

'Go to Trump's blatant knockoff, you won't be missed,' added @schwimmphan.

'Truth Social will be as successful as Trump University, the Trump Foundation, and the twice-impeached loser,' @mmpadellen said. 'And that's the Truth.'
