China leads new Eastern Bloc against the West; meanwhile, Russians kiss the Big Mac goodbye
Companies in Russia now make payments to foreign creditors with the Russian ruble rather than the U.S. dollar. Glenn Beck predicted more moves away from the U.S. dollar like this one, weakening our currency further. Glenn explained that China is leading a new Eastern Bloc against the West.
If the war against U.S. currency isn't chilling enough, McDonald's' decision to temporarily pause business at 850 restaurants in Russia shook some patrons to the core. Upon learning of the Golden Arch's plan to teach Russia a lesson and temporarily punish citizens, Luka Safronov reportedly made his protest known.
"Closing down is an act of hostility against my fellow citizens and me!" Safronov yelled. McDonald's fans are heartbroken over the suspension of all 850 store locations in Russia. Many Russians flocked to their nearest McDonald's for one last happy meal.
Putin has since said that if McDonald's leaves, Russia will take control of McDonald's, and they know how to make the Big Mac.
Sarcastically, Glenn pointed out that while the U.S. dollar might diminish in value, the joke will be on Russia. They have knockoff quarter pounders with cheese.
