13-Year-Old Girl Charged in Fatal Beating of New York City Cab Driver
A 13-year-old girl has been charged for her involvement in fatally beating a New York City cab driver to death earlier this month.
The driver, Kutin Gyimah, 52, was a married father of four.
According to law enforcement, the 13-year-old and four others had fled the cab without paying when they arrived at their destination.
Things took an extremely violent turn when Gyimah left the vehicle and began to chase them.
Instead of paying their fare, the five assailants began brutally attacking the driver.
Austin Amos, 20, has been charged with manslaughter as police believe that Gyimah was the one who delivered the fatal hit, which caused the driver to hit his head on the sidewalk.
Amos’ friends Nickolas Porter, 20, and an unnamed 16-year-old girl have been charged with robbery and assault for their roles in the killing, according to a report from the New York Post.
Police are still seeking a 15-year-old female suspect who was involved in the mob beating.
A fundraiser that was launched for Gyimah’s family has already raised more than $200,000.
“We are raising funds for the funeral and family of Kutin Gyimah. We are hoping to cover not only funeral expenses but support living expense and an educational future for his four children,” the fundraiser’s description reads.
Gyimah’s children are still very young, ranging in age from three years old to eight.
