Revealed: Angelina Jolie 'DID file anonymous lawsuit as Jane Doe' asking why FBI didn't arrest Brad Pitt after her allegations of assault
Angelina Jolie has been identified as the 'Jane Doe' who sued the FBI after an investigation into her ex-husband Brad Pitt was closed, following 2016 allegations of physical and verbal assault.
After initial speculation about the unnamed plaintiff in the suit it has now been confirmed that the The Maleficent actress, 47, was the one who filed in April, according to Puck News' Eriq Gardner.
The suit asked for the bureau to hand over documents related to the investigation into the actor, 58, after Jolie claimed that he 'physically and verbally assaulted' her and their children while flying on a private plane.

The FBI cleared Pitt of any wrongdoing in the incident, which happened during a private jet flight, falling under the jurisdiction of the federal government. Days after, Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt and asked for full custody of their kids.
Details in the suit reveal that Brad reportedly put his hands on Angelina and poured beer on her during the flight. Pitt was said to be drinking and had taken Jolie to the back of the plane, grabbed her shoulders and shook her while yelling, 'You’re f*****g up this family.'
Puck published the story on Tuesday, revealing that Jolie complained about a lack of transparency regarding why the investigation was closed. The publication also revealed that Jolie amended the complaint on August 9.

Apparently before the FBI announced that they would not be charging Pitt with assault, the agent investigating the incident 'prepared a statement of probable cause and presented it to the chief of the Criminal Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Los Angeles' but a decision not to pursue charges was made.
During that same flight another physical altercation was alleged to have happened, where Jolie reported sustaining injuries and gave an agent 'a photo of her elbow in an attempt to corroborate this.'
This was also the same flight where Brad allegedly put his hands on the couple's oldest son, Maddox (then 15, now 21) with Angelina claiming that he struck him - something the actor has denied.

Sources close to the Moneyball actor believe Jolie only filed the lawsuit in order to bring press attention to the allegations against Brad, claiming that she's already had the requested information for years, as per TMZ.
The insider said that Pitt was cleared because there was 'not a shred of evidence' to support Angelina's claims.
Jolie and Pitt - whose marriage collapsed in 2016 - are parents to six children. Aside from Maddox, they also share twins Knox and Vivienne, 14, as well as daughters Shiloh, 16, Zahara, 17, and son Pax, 18.
At the time of the filing, high-profile attorney Amanda Kramer, who is representing the plaintiff, told Politico her client filed the suit anonymously to 'preserve the family’s privacy.'

The filing alleges the woman's children have 'experienced lasting physical and mental trauma' after being 'verbally and physically' assaulted by her then-husband while flying on a private plane.
It also alleges Jane Doe has filed numerous requests for a copy of the department's investigative file in hopes of 'better understanding the FBI's investigation and obtaining information necessary for her children to receive medical care and trauma counseling.'
The powerhouse stars met on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith in 2005 and after dating for a decade they tied the knot in September 2014.
Jolie filed for divorce in 2016. The couple have been tied up in legal battles for nearly six years, and although they became legally single in 2019, their custody battle has raged on.
