White House Press Sec Comments on Biden’s Low Approval Ratings: ‘We get it’ (VIDEO)
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre commented on Joe Biden’s ultra low approval ratings by saying, “we get it.”
The remarks came during an appearance on ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday.
Host Jonathan Karl asked the press secretary, “why is it that, if things are getting better, so many Americans are unhappy with President Biden’s handling of it?”
“We’ve said this before, it’s like: We get it. We understand what the American people are feeling at this time,” Jean-Pierre told host Karl.
The press secretary went on to claim that tackling inflation is the “number one priority” for the administration.
Jean-Pierre also boasted about the expensive climate, tax and health care bill that the Democrats just passed, saying that claims it will not combat inflation are “false.”
“There’s more to it. It’s just it was the way that Republicans did that was so that it could make an argument that is false. It is going to fight inflation,” the Jean-Pierre said. “It has been proven, and has been said by economists across the board, on the Republican side and on the Democrat side.”
The press secretary also continued to claim that Biden will indeed run for a second term in 2024, despite the majority not wanting him to.
The latest Yahoo News-YouGov poll, released on Wednesday, found that only 18 percent of Americans want Biden to run again in 2024.
“The survey of 1,672 U.S. adults, which was conducted from July 8 to July 11, represents perhaps the starkest evidence to date of the president’s deteriorating position with voters — including those in his own party. Since late May, the number of Americans who say Biden should run for reelection has fallen by 7 points; among Democrats, that number has fallen by 8 points,” the pollsters reported.
Biden appears to be in complete denial about the numbers, telling reporters on Tuesday that “they want me to run,” meaning Democrat voters.
However, 41 percent of Democrat voters said that they do not want him to run — and only about a quarter said that they do.
Among independents, 71 percent say that they do not want to see Biden run again.
In addition to his failing policies, Biden will also turn 82 shortly after the next presidential election.
