Biden Admin Sued Over Allegedly ‘Withholding’ FTC Records In Baby Formula Shortage Investigation

 An ethics watchdog is suing the Biden Administration’s Federal Trade Commission for allegedly hiding information related to the investigation into the national baby formula shortage.

The FTC allegedly ignored an August FOIA request from The Functional Government Initiative for records about its investigation into the baby formula shortage, according to a complaint obtained by the Washington Examiner. The watchdog is now reportedly suing the FTC for “wrongfully withholding them.”

Approximately one-third of American households struggled to get baby formula in the last month, according to data released by the Census Bureau in mid-September. Almost 20% of households had less than one week of baby formula available when the survey was conducted.

In May, director of the National Economic Council Brian Deese admitted that the Biden Administration knew about the impending baby formula shortage as early as February of 2022.

In a September report, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) shifted the blame for the shortage to a manufacturing plant in Michigan, Abbott Nutrition.
