Elon Musk Meets With Apple CEO Tim Cook After Threatening ‘War’ Over App Store

Two days after blowing up Apple on Twitter over alleged threats to pull Twitter from its app store, Elon Musk says he met Wednesday with Apple CEO Tim Cook at Apple’s headquarters.

Musk initially just posted a video clip showing the scenery at Apple, “Thanks @tim_cook for taking me around Apple’s beautiful HQ”

Two-and-a-half hours later Musk tweeted that the meeting had been productive, “Good conversation. Among other things, we resolved the misunderstanding about Twitter potentially being removed from the App Store. Tim was clear that Apple never considered doing so.”

For his part, Cook has not commented on Twitter about the meeting or Tuesday’s question to him by Musk about Apple drastically cutting advertising on Twitter or Musk’s claim Apple threatened to ban Twitter form its app store.

However, a hoax tweet containing a fake Cook response based on Musk’s “now pay $8” comment to critics went viral with the fake Cook saying, “Your feedback is appreciated, now pay 30%”.

Musk has deleted a rage tweet from Monday in which he memed going to war against Apple over its 30 percent app fees and threatened banishment.

Last week Musk said he would build his own smartphone if Twitter were to be banned by Apple and Google app stores.
